wow, wow… i mean, has this world been on another wavelength, or what! i’ve had so. much. to wrap my mind around lately. my head’s been spinning with all there is to absorb! and honestly, we will also never know the truth about some things, and that’s where faith comes in. plus, you can spend all this time preparing for certain outcomes, and then something else happens that you weren’t at all prepared for… which is what happened here in the nashville area a few nights ago. everyone had their minds on that silly virus, and a tornado came ripping through. the stories coming out of it are just so so sad and weighing heavily on my heart. it’s a weird, crazy world, but all we truly need to know is this…
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
that being said! preparation is still pretty much my favorite feeling. next to, i don’t know, love. supporting your immune system is going to be *more* *important* *than* *ever* in the coming years. our children are up against a lot as they grow, and here we are not getting any younger! it’s really an unprecedented era we’re finding ourselves in. so… it really doesn’t hurt to play it smart, now, does it!! i’m pulling some of my fav wellness, germ-fighting tips from off the top of my head that i’ve collected in all my latest information gathering!
ways to boost and protect your immune system!
-take 1,000-2,000 mg vitamin C from sodium ascorbate daily: i’m stepping up the C game around here, and just got this lypospheric C, which has been sooo highly recommended by so many people! i’m pretty excited about it! it’s also good for reducing fine lines in your skin!
-probiotics: we’ve taken probiotic eleven from nature’s sunshine for several years. i know a lot of people like mary ruth’s, which we haven’t tried, but in comparison it looks to be extremely similar! it’s also a liquid, which is easy with kiddos.
-homeopathics: we LIVE on homeopathy, and i’m always trying to learn more about it. i’ve seen the combinations of gelsemium, bryonia, and eupatorium recommended for the latest viral craze [ahh], as well as gelsemium, mercurius, and eupatorium. i’m not at all sure which combination is better, but a couple of products, cold calm and cold crush, both contain a few of these, as discovered by my mother! we bought both of these products, rather than individual homeopathics. and if you get the flu, it’s great to have oscillococcinum on hand!
-elderberry: i have loooved purchasing homemade elderberry syrup! i definitely think a fresh batch is the most powerful. however, i have seen it mentioned that specifically black sambucus is more effective in fighting some viruses. i say… any decent elderberry is better than no elderberry! but i have this one in my pantry, currently, since we are out of the fresh stuff!
-D3/K2: nothing replaces simply soaking up 15 minutes in the sun. but if you can’t! i LOVE my D3/K2 drops and feel soooo much more alive when i am not D deficient. and you always want to take D3 with K2 for optimal absorption. K2 is great for bone development and strength so don’t forget to give it to the kiddos, too. 🙂
-nasal spray: it’s so helpful to do a daily saline rinse!! and kids love when they can do stuff themselves. mine are great about it if i remind them. i realize there are all kinds of nasal spray products with fabulous ingredients, but i keep it simple with this one. it has helped us tremendously in times of nasal need!
-diffuse immune boost: rocky mountain oils and plant therapy both have immune blends that are TOP performers in germ killing. and the best news: you don’t have to sign up with anyone for anything! i love the brands that you have to sign up for, don’t get me wrong. but i don’t need the commitment, and i’ve used RMO for years.
-silver: this is probably my #1 wellness product that i never EVER go without. i use it for every reason. a drop in achey ears. a capful in the pet water. a squirt in the diffuser. you name it, i do it. important: you want a silver SOL or solution, due to the particle size. i’m… not a scientist… but i believe that the particles of a silver sol are more able to collect the bad stuff and pass through the body rather than absorb in. i’d say a teaspoon once or twice a day is beneficial in high risk times. [that may be under-dosing for full grown adults that feel something coming on!]
-electrolytes: we love adding electrolytes to our water. we filter our water with the berkey, so it is often necessary to add a bit of goodness back in. husband bought some when he was playing soccer, but i decided to try it out myself… once i got used to the taste i started craving it! this particular one uses salt from the great salt lake in utah to provide minerals that your body needs!
-sage burning: i love burning sage for multiple reasons. first, there is scientific evidence to back up its air cleansing properties! and as a ritual, i like to burn it in each room in conjunction with prayer. my first grade lady baby will be the first to tell you that evil cannot dwell where you are speakin’ in the name of Jesus! hallelujah. all that to say, i do not subscribe to any new age beliefs. science and Jesus, only. 🙂 anyway, i used to do it monthly, and i am planning to get back into a routine with it!
-vaporizer: thank goodness for these things!! we’ve had this one for a few years, and we sleep with them all winter long. they have helped tremendously. also, not long ago, my mom sent me information she’d come across saying the flu virus did not survive where there were steam vaporizers running [steam, not cool mist]. sooooo… pretty amazing!
-HEPA air purifier: indoor air is very toxic due to… literally everything. paint. carpet. floors. furniture. mold. allergens. and all of it being sealed up tight. we’ve had this one for a few years! it’s affordable and functions really well!
-reduce radiation: oooh, man. where to even begin on this topic? i won’t get too far into it, but this is pretty much at the very top of my priority list. i don’t know how we are best going to counteract harmful EMFs from here on out as they worsen, but we literally just have to figure it out. i’m information gathering on this as new strategies emerge! but, i recently listened to an interview with a guy who does EMF remediation that said protection while sleeping is the #1 place to start. i know having as much wired as opposed to wireless is helpful. many unplug their wireless at night, smart. a lot of people are getting rid of their microwaves, which i’m not against. i have this photo frame that has EMF blocking fabric inside that i set my phone behind at night. [i don’t want to be without my phone in case of emergency.] i mean… there’s so much to consider, also, there is paint being made now to protect your home, but it’s really pricey at this point. and! i’d love to cage up the silly meter on the side of our house [you can buy ready made cages for protection], but we haven’t done that yet. anyway! clearly, this could really be its own post, and maybe someday it will, but i have a lot more to learn and do!
-heavy metal detox: ahh, another big topic that i’m still learning so much on! this is important on so many levels. for starters, it’s just coming out that alzheimers for people in their THIRTIES is increasing. what the heck!! no one in their thirties should have dementia!! that’s due to aluminum in the brain. scary. okay, two… parasites hide behind heavy metals causing all sorts of disfunction. gross. three! didn’t your mom teach you not to put anything metal inside a microwave?! you know 5g uses microwave beams, right? yes. mmhm. bad idea. so. enough about that for now, but detoxing! my sister has tried the TRS zeolite spray and had some good results. it has amazing testimonials, but i think it depends on your need. if you have never ever detoxed like this, maybe it’s a good and easy starting place. another option that helps your body’s natural ability to detoxify in general, is liquid chlorophyll. my kiddos and i have used this, primarily, and they think it’s fun to be like a plant. 🙂 one more note on heavy metal detoxing: i’ve seen it mentioned that you should be careful with metal chelation if you have not removed the source from your body… like an amalgam filling, which leaches mercury. unfortunately, i have one of those!
-morning beverages that aren’t coffee?! i haven’t been able to manage this before my cup of joe, but “they” say that celery juice is good to start with before coffee and wait 15 minutes before eating. i love celery juice, and maybe when school is out i’ll work on the before coffee thing! anyway, prior to celery juice being all the liquidy rage, it was ACV in water with a squirt of lemon, honey, and a sprinkle of cayenne! i’ve done that, too. all good things! but… like i said. i haven’t managed any of it before coffee. 🙂
-grounding or earthing: this is the process of connecting your body to the earth’s energy, which is inhibited by shoes with artificial soles, being indoors, etc. call it hooey or try it out 😉 but i’m on board and looking into more ways to accomplish regular grounding!
a few other habits to practice!!
-i’m fresh out, but i really like carrying dr. bronners or honest company hand sanitizers in my purse!
-take off shoes in the house… always a fun battle. haha. and i am not against lysol on the bottoms of them, but who can really do that every time.
-change clothes once you get home from being out and about. i do this compulsively. i hate out-in-public clothes once i’m home!
-sanitize your phone… it’s dirtier than a public restroom, they say. EW.
-sanitize your purse! i see people set their purses on public floors and i have to wonder if they’re going to go home and set their purse on a table or counter and not even think twice about it!
-sanitize doorknobs!
-carry a baby lysol in your purse. baby lysol bottles are so cute! they’re basically american girl doll sized!
so, WOW. this ended up longer than i expected. haha. anyway! ummm… as a final note… stress is horrible for your body! breathe fresh air! smile! dance! pick flowers! hug! oxytocin! yay!
ps. what am i missing? i probably forgot something major!
xoxoxo

This topic is so “you” I can’t even! It’s like you were made for this! You’ve been preparing you’re entire life!!

hahahahaha you are so right! had no idea i was spending my whole life waiting for a global health disaster until now! lol. that just about sums me up, actually.

In the homeopathic realm, have you ever tried the flu nosode? We don’t get flu shots so I tired it this year and used it weekly as a preventative. Everyone around us got the flu but not one person in our house did! Now I can’t say it was that for sure because we also do a lot of other supplements and herbals, but it didn’t hurt 😊
Brittany says
yes, we do use a homeopathic remedy that includes the flu nosode! i think it’s amazing to have on hand to get through winter!!
