as we’ve typically done in the past, we traveled down to steven’s parents’ house in seagrove [in northwest florida] for a handful of days following christmas! we skipped last year, as luca was such a tiny thing, but this year, we really went for it… drove and everything! because you know how much fun driving 8 hours with a 1 year old right after christmas sounds. 😉 luca was as angelic as he possibly could be, though, thanks to endless snack options and screen time, and the bigger babes were, as well. ooooo holy car travels!
i mean… why ever did ole st. nick bring human toys for christmas to a child who can be that cute and happy with dog toys?!
i always basically bring lounge clothes in anticipation of impressing no one post-christmas, so the last thing i was prepared to do was make a first in-person impression! haha. but wouldn’t you know!!!!!! i saw that my sweet and lovely bloggy friend, sarah hunt, was literally staying minutes away from me and i haddddd to squeeze her in person!!! this is the incredible thing about the internet and social media these days. i’ve made so many real-life wonderful friends by connecting first online, and it is such a gift. she’s every bit as genuine and delightful as i had gathered, and i truly could’ve hung out and chatted all day with this gorgeous mama!! it literally made my week. and yes, her perfect baby girl bump made me so sentimental. why is my baby so big?!?!?!
steven packed the kiddos’ bicycles!! and rocco’s expressions, they totally complete me. he channels my pappap so often, i swear. [which i always find fascinating, because he got his name from pappap’s dad!]
gosh, i love you, chillenpies! also, rocco found his chase helmet at the amish store on our way back from lexington and couldn’t live without it! it’s so dang cute!
lu baby’s hair is in the same phase maddalena’s went through [and mine as a baby!] where it catches the sunlight with this warm copper sheen! so funny, since rocco’s went straight from soft brunette baby hair to shaggy blond surfer curls! obviously, you know i find each of them to be their own sort of perfection… and hallelujah, all 3 have given me such precious baby curls to savor!
hardcore MOM LIFE, comin’ atcha from the streets.
three bunnies, nailing some of their favorite hobbies… photography, canine interactions, and bike riding 🙂
rocco went training wheel free!!! and ahh, look at that cute face. he is so proud, and so. are. we.
the in-laws had arranged a fun beach campfire! we had an hour to enjoy it before storms came, but i think we only would have made it for an hour, anyway, with littles and such. s’mores for life, though, you know!
moooooooooo [heading to breakfast at cowgirl kitchen, but honestly, luca’s belly peepin’ out is basically enough to satisfy my appetite ;)] also, so grateful ever day for maddalena and her big sister skills. she’s a little pink angel!
rocco is really into imagine dragons right now!
100% the most delicious thing in the kitchen. also, i think maddalena may have taken these last two luca photos?! i’ll have to ask her, haha! i don’t remember.
the boys went all out at the italian restaraunt we went to [called amici, in case you’re on the hunt for a family friendly 30a spot]. luca killed/adorned himself in some of my ravioli, and rocco literally ordered huge bowls of both spaghetti and macaroni. hahahaha. and ate like 4 bites, as one would expect.
…aaaaaaand the highlight of our car ride back, for me, was that i actually snagged a shot of the white house with pink doors i noticed on the way there! while it’s not my dream location [or a location we even want to make a pit stop in. i mean… sorry, location! no hard feelings.], ooooh my goodness! dear God, when i make it to heaven, i don’t need a mansion, but a white victorian house with pink doors and a bunch of chimneys would not upset me! and assuming the heavenly HOA requires it, sure, the driveway can be made of gold. that’s totally fine, too. ps. i’m working really hard here on earth.
AND THERE WE ARE! we made it home in one piece, with the addition of a greatest showman dvd, some wine awaiting us [haaaaalelujah!] and yes, luca threw up all his snacks on me later. pretty intense sniffles relapse! whattayagonnado.
xoxoxo!
