favorite IG accounts turned books!

…that right there is the visual story of me trying to read a book these days!! every other page is adorably interruped. basically, a “visual story” is exactly what i’m after right now, though, if i’m going to enjoy something quickly and easily! i think that’s part of why we all gravitate toward scrolling social media periodically in our busy lives, right?

one amazing thing that’s come from social media, if you ask me, is that so many of my personal FAVORITE accounts to follow have gone from instagram to published book. which is incredible for them, and i love to support that. but also, i love, love, love a gorgeous book to place on my shelf, coffee table, or bedside! gosh. i have such a weakness for books. even if i know it’ll take me 20 years to end up reading them all. they are just so timeless and beautiful!!

anyway, i’ve ended up with a handful of gorgeous physical publications that have come from my favorite IG accounts!! honestly, i just cannot get over them. there is such talent in this world!! i’m so glad when people are willing to share it…

chateau de gudanes by chateau de gudanes – i have followed the restoration of this incredible french chateau for a handful of years now!! this account inspires me daily. when their book came out, i received a copy of for my birthday, aaaaand it’s stunning! even the way they wrap it is incredible. my mom still hasn’t unwrapped hers because it’s just so beautiful, she can’t bring herself to do it. hahaha.

the boy, the mole, the fox, and the horse by charlie mackesy – oh my gosh! his illustrations have literally brought me to tears at times [there’s really not much that does that to me, honestly], and when i opened up the book… wow. i’ve never come across anything so simple and beautiful and poignant all at once. he just gets life in a way that’s gentle and real and lovely. i want to cover all of my walls in his artwork and sentiments, but for now… a pretty little book will do! my mom gave me this book for christmas… and i gave it to her. haha! he speaks our language.

vintages roses, peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas photographed by georgianna lane – she actually has a few other books out that she is the author and photographer for, but these that she’s done with another author are my favorites!! i have vintage roses and peonies, and can’t wait to get my hands on dahlias and soon-to-come hydrangeas!! these are pure delight to sit and sift through… tidbits of information about each flower with huge, gorgeous photos. flowers and books… such perfection!

strange planet by nathan w. pyle – oh. my gosh. when i discovered this account through my sister, i felt like she had been totally holding out on me by not telling me IMMEDIATELY about this artist and his hilariously accurate view of life!!! if you’ve ever tried to picture the earthling things we do from an alien perspective… if you have an affinity for synonyms [i love synonyms]… if you appreciate intelligent, yet easily digestible humor… you need this. i literally laugh out loud at everything he does. also, i could watch his pigeon stories on IG all day!

…so, those are my top favs actually in my possession that i gaze upon and appreciate on the reg!! HOWEVER! i must mention also, that two of my friends [both mamas of FOUR!!] have now put out books and i cannot wait to get my own copies!! i’m so excited for them!!

tales of wonder by my sweet friend, morgan hunt – i cannot wait to receive this beautiful children’s book, inspired by her own precious little girl!!! i know my kiddos will cherish it. morgan, i miss you!!

our table in croatia by the talented amanda marshall – she has inspired me for so long with her dreamy photography and amazing cooking! [cooking is not so much my thing, so i am always in awe of her.] one day i will squeeze this lady in person, but until then, i can’t wait to get a little collection of her talents!! so proud of you, amanda!
