there she is!! she’s up and she’s beautiful! a sparkling tree adorned in gold is just what that corner of our house is asking for all year long. a few years ago, we decided to have our tree day the weekend before thanksgiving [as opposed to the weekend after, which is now reserved for digesting, mostly], and we’ve really enjoyed it!
also, i’m sure glad that my mom pointed out that the unbreakable ornaments might be a good purchase aaall those years ago when we put up our very first married christmas tree!! flash forward and sweet baby luca is just living to get his little hands on anything resembling a ball, dangling merrily from a branch just within his little arm’s reach!
the cats, however… now they have been after that tree for a few years, knocking ornaments down day and night, climbing up the branches, and even chewing on the lights… biggest no-no of all when you have a pre-lit tree! we spray them with water every time they make their attempts, but they do not learn. oh, no, they do not. stella, on the other hand! my stellypup has been such a good girl, and has indeed helped defend the tree against kitty attacks. aaand, to be fair! i must not leave out the fact that minnie has been a good little christmas fluffy for a solid 12 years now. 🙂
as usual, we put on elf as we got all set up! since maddalena requested a time-lapse last year, and i didn’t do one… i couldn’t turn her down again this year! [we did year before last, though!!] it’s hard to resist a good time-lapse opportunity, truly…
[a peek back at all of our christmas tree days of yore!!]

Love the time lapse to be sure! I never think to take photos of the tree getting all pretty… maybe next year! Our newest family member is ok with the tree itself but REALLY likes the wrapped presents. I’m afraid no one will make out with an untouched gift this year!!
