…yep. totally that person. counting my puppy’s months, as if she’s my only child! hahaha.
but HERE’S THE THING. i love her. i didn’t know i had any capacity left for any. more. creatures. i was actually pretty sure that adding a puppy on top of everything that already has me feeling stretched thin was maaaybe a terrible idea, though not enough to stop me. π and that was BEFORE my husband blew his knee out! however, i’m pretty open to crazy within my household, as you can probably tell, and i do a lotttt of things for the big picture… which stella fits 100% for so many reasons. also, being an animal person is kind of in my DNA.
and… as it turns out… i’m obsessed with her. i hope she grows to be ginormous! and i love the thought that she is the family pup my kiddos will spend their childhood with. she and luca are two months apart from each other in age, and it’s such a dream to picture them growing up together. maddalena and rocco have both gained so much confidence in working with her, and i’m so so proud! we’re going back tomorrow for our second hour of us + stella training and i can’t wait to ask like 97 questions. [we’ve been working with global k9 protection services, and we love them!!]
anyway. i’m pretty shamelessly pumped that she’s my bff now. π i love you, stella!!
[the stella story // our first 3 weeks]
and might i add… i feel so guilty when any of this appears to be disregarding our sweet minnie! minnie is my first fluffy baby, and now she is getting up there in age and a smidge crotchety. somewhat hard of hearing. she takes a lot of naps, and she can’t go on walks anymore. it makes me so sad when i think about all the walks we took and playtime she used to have!! but stella kind of eases that for me a little bit. minnie deserves to be able to just… lay in our bathroom all day while stella takes on crazy kiddo life… and adheres to higher expectations that princess minnie ever had to, honestly! so… minnie’s a senior citizen, and she’s totally earned it. π
…ahhh back when they were the same size!!!

Gosh!!!!!! I hear you on the senior citizen pup! My Maltese will be 16 in 3 months π. I love him so much! Thankfully I have a feisty 10 year old, sweet Schnauzer, too. (My cat is 18 in July π©) Hubby says I take too good of care of all my pets…. But he is kidding. Canβt have a house without some pets. I love all your pet posts, kiddos pics and stories… πππππ
So keep it up!

oh my gosh, you are the best animal mom ever!!!!! it’s so hard when they get older! minnie is 11 but acting like she’s older and i just did not expect that! but her bloodwork was good, still, so… she’s still kickin! a house without pets is no house for me. π and as always, thank you sooo much for your kind words!!!
