wow wow wowwwwww. okay, so like… before you go and decide i’ve become a super old lady, please just know that one of my favorite hobbies at age 4 was organizing my sock drawer. i can still feel the sweet satisfaction of getting them allll just so! this is my essence, people. my essence!!
i am obsessed… passionately in love… with my new hangers.
and let me just say… finally giving in and changing out my hangers from crappy white ones with notches that were ruining my shirt shoulders [and the ones without notches nothing would stay on!] to beautiful pink velvet hangers was the most cathartic experience i’ve had in a very long time. i was overdue!!
the thing is… i tried to tell myself i wasn’t fancy enough for velvet hangers. i told myself it was a frivolous expenditure, because no, i don’t have a fancy closet with an island and a whole shelf section dedicated to my red-bottomed shoes. [which i also… don’t currently have. but i actually do not like the color red, so that’s fine, really! sidenote: martha stewart paints hers black, and that is why i love her.] but you guys!!!! i was getting so frustrated with my clothes literally not staying on the hangers. the notches poking holes in my sweaters. the wrinkles they had from me jamming them together just to get them to stay put. i’m a full grown adultish person with cashmere. i can have hangers that do my clothes justice.
…before and after! omg. that is legitimately EMBARRASSING. but the background scene is pretty sweet. <3
…ahhhh. best feeling! i’m not kidding. i was so excited. order and organization is my happy place. there is so much i need to do to get my little area here as efficient and aesthetic as possible, but this was the perfect start.
…rocco was hauling hangers around. haha! anyway, my shoe situation. my purse situation. my book situation. coming soon, when i figure it all out! i really wish target still had those gold edged boxes from a few years ago. you can’t see them, but i have three on the side of my closet, and i sooo should’ve gotten more. also, steven has the other half of the closet. it’s a different little adventure over there! any men’s hanger recommendations? i don’t think his clothes really require the stickiness of the velvet.
…and boom. closet life: changed! i texted around to see if anyone needed hangers, and no. literally no one wants them. byebye, hangers!!
SO! blame marie kondo, but my new blush pink hangers spark. some. JOY.
[although, all of the colors look pretty! i almost went with ivory, but then i figured why not just go full-on brittany in this scenario.]
anyway, if you haven’t done a hanger overhaul for yourself yet… treat yoself! i’ll be your enabler. it’s worth it.
xoxo,
brittany p. s. b., officially enneagram 1, but still with a little 6 and hint of 4
