…HELLO!!! is there life out there?!?
this week! oooh, this week. it’s been a new one for me! i mean, i’ve had sick kiddos… i’ve had little babes… but i’ve never had two terribly ill children AND a baby to keep cared for and healthy all at once! however, that changed this week, and my two bigger bunnies have literally been in bed since sunday. sunday! SUNDAY! this is friday. did you know it was possible for a 6 year old and a 3 year old to stay in bed for most of a week? i certainly didn’t! but i guess that tells you how bad they’ve felt. and we didn’t get tested, so i can’t guarantee you that it’s the flu… but… it’s the flu. so. there you have it.
anyway! baby luca and i have spent night and day bouncing from upstairs to downstairs for snacks and sheet changes and lysol dousing and essential oiling and medicine administering and vapo-rubbing and bathing and laundry and ipad recharging and just all of it. actually, when i can i leave luca upstairs [our house layout is flippy-floppied and the main floor is up.] or i put him in his nursery while catering to the little sickies. but other than that, i’ve been doing a whole lot of babywearing and we keep on rollin. and oooh, he has kept me so cheery!! i mean. it’s more work to keep a baby healthy while caring for the other two, but he is a beam of sunshine in my every day that i wouldn’t trade for anything in the world.
okay, and the funny thing is… i’ve been wanting a snow day so badly so that we could wake up to a pretty layer of white and take the day off of school!! so, we got our snow day… buuuuut… we were already not going to school. and my poor sick babes didn’t get to enjoy it at all! so, here’s hoping we get a re-do?!
anyway! i aaalmost lost my mind this week. i was bordering on delirium. but i also know 100% that there’s nothing i’d rather be doing than making sure my babes get back to normal asap! it’s so hard seeing them miserable and worrying night and day, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, i think! madd is practically fine today, minus the coughing, and rocco’s right behind her. yay yay.
so, shout out to coffee!! and steven for bringing home soup and grilled cheese deliciousness… amazon prime now for being an absolute saving grace… nordstrom for popping my FAVORITE SWEATER!! in the oat color!!!! in a box!!! so i could open it and be delighted just when i needed it!! my baby luca bunny for being a tiny, cuddly little SAINT! my poor bigger bunnies for being so patient through their misery. my sis-in-law anna for giving minnie the CUTEST little fur-cut to wear beneath her pretty winter coat!!! and maggie for bringing me a morning time happy hour lavender latte and an icing-y breakfast muffin and even labeling it appropriately. aaand i’d like to thank lysol for doin what it do. i mean, i love green, organic everything, but when it comes to flu germs, my homeopathy and elderberry and ibuprofen and essential oils and lysol and bleach wipes are all holding hands and singing and doing trust falls and that is how we roll. oh, and thank you 2019 for completely necessary screen addictions.
hallelujah. amen.
[please don’t let anything else hit us.]
also! here’s the easiest ever recipe for the delicious oat bites that they have pretty much lived on this week. you can substitute banana for practically anything. i did banana for my first batch this week, then used canned pumpkin and pumpkin spices and they were amazing!
and THE SWEATER!! yes, the one i’ve been obsessed with in pink… i got it in oat! literally [not at all literally] 1000 people a day ask me about this sweater, and it’s on sale!! so here here here!! it says to size down, i actually don’t… i sized up! mine are both 8 because that’s all they had when i ordered, but it works since i have long arms [FYI: i’m 5’7, typically a small/medium depending on length], and it’s made to be super slouchy! so, you kind of have a good range for sizing options, i would say, depending on how you want the sleeves! i like them extra balloony.
Laurie says
Oh what a week you have had! Here’s hoping it is all behind you! Being cooped up for that long would drive me insane!
Brittany says
oh, yes. i went insane! and then i was too exhausted to be sane or insane or anything other than delirious. hope you guys are staying well!!! looks like you have been, hooray!!!
