a bunny’s first outing!

little bunny luca was a whole week old [weekend before last!] when we made it a literal 60 seconds down the road with the bigger bunnies, my mom, and my sis for coffee, shopping, christmas tunes, and cookies at our very favorite little boutique‘s holiday open house! i mean, i’m honestly not usually someone who even cares about leaving the house EVER in the first weeks of having a baby. i actually love the excuse to be home for a while. but! i felt like it was a safe time to see how he did in the car seat… and the baby carrier… aaand i needed to snag a little paci clip for him! plus, we all just love it over there. 🙂

so, sidenote! we miiiight have our very first paci-taker?!! he’s been mostly unopposed to the cutest paci ever, and i got the prettiest boy-appropriate paci clip to go with it! [also, this one is gorgeous. wow wowww, i’m fawning over paci clips. mother of three. reality check. omg. anyway, if you’re around here, go shop with the sweetest gals at jollifrogs to fawn over paci clips and be cool like me. :)]

ANYWAY!! even going one minute away had me anxiously racking my brain trying to remember what all i find necessary to carry in a baby bag. it’s been so long! but we survived. he loved the baby carrier and slept the whole time. i love baby wearing. 🙂

also, as we pulled up, rocco shouted “I WANT THAT TRUCK!” apparently he found his dream truck. 😉 i said, “buuut, that’s an actual truck, you can’t drive it yet!” and he was like, “that’s okay, you and daddy can! I WANT IT.” i love him and his absolute addiction to vehicles and machines. such. a. boy. a boy who knows exactly what he likes! example: he picked his wedding shoes to wear that day since they coordinated so nicely with his bomber jacket. like, what?! how he can be dazzling and rugged all at once gets me every time. gosh, both of those booboos, i just love them so much.

my mom also snagged the cutest, prettiest seasonal cookies from our favorite cookie gal while we were there!! she did the cookies for my brother and sis-in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner and for baby luca’s sprinkle surprise, and i was so happy to finally get to meet her! she’s so so talented and sweet. and THIS PINK COFFEE CUP COOKIE!!! i can’t. even. can’t even. just cannot. literally can’t. 😉

also, shout out to 3 coats of essie it takes a west village, topped with the gel coat that i swear by. did my nails the day before luca was born, and iiiii was so glad i did!

…the kiddos even got these precious paint-your-own cookies she created! i mean, is that so fun?! and look at my little lefty. love these babes.

so, whew!! that was fun!!

aaand i for sure haven’t made plans to go anywhere else. 🙂 my mom comes over and keeps me eating and does my laundry, and my bfffff saint maggie has been taking maddalena with her crew to school. i’ve spent days, DAYS! just nursing, basically. the big kids have been coughing up their lungs because #fall! and tiny bunbun went on a pooping strike that about gave me a heart attack. aaand the two of us accidentally spent 6 hours on the couch last night, because it was impossible for me to stay awake between nursing sessions! but hey! i guess sleep is sleep no matter where you find yourself passing out, right! so, i currently feel like i have a lot of life to catch up on at this point! but newborn life is the very sweetest, still. short and sweet. i’m keeping that in mind and drowsily soaking it up. ♡
