yesterday was anatomy scan day for future new baby! it was here before we knew it.
maddalena was SOO genuinely hoping for a sister… while rocco had said all adorably, “i hope de baby is a BOY!!!” there was a pretty clear team girl vs. team boy developing! buuut. “you can’t choose!” we said. “God picks the baby for you!” we reminded them. “it’s not a competition!!!” we need to just make our household mantra.
either way, they were promised the treat of their choice after the doctor’s appointment, and they were so so so very good! they totally earned their ice cream that morning!
sidenote: you know it’s not your first child when all you hear in regards to gender discovery is daniel tiger singing, “will the baby beeee a boy or a girl? we’ll just have to wait and seeeee!” so….. cue daniel tiger!

and maddalena is actually pretty good with it! she’s the absolute best, most wonderful sissy in the world. and i know brothers together will be so so sweet. we didn’t have two boys within my siblings growing up or in steven’s! so that’s a new one for us!
anyway, here’s to a lifetime of avoiding more head staples and teaching how to hold doors and pull out chairs, right? <3
oh, and you guys!!!! like 74% of my instagram totally thought we were having a girl when i put up a poll yesterday!! too funny! i mean, if my unending love for pink frills and gold shiny things could have any influence, i’m sure it wouldn’t even be a question, haha! part of me was definitely hoping for little dresses again, but i’m so happy with charming boys, too. we’re already so lucky to have both! so, sorry for the IG stories cruelty, but the polls are too much fun.

part of me was SOOO not ready to let go of the frilly dainty dress option!!! i for sure have missed the tiny girly stuff while doing this last go round of boy stuff. but rocco melts me like nothing else, so i’m definitely happy with two boys. we were mostly just worried about how M would take it! she’s done great!

I voted boy! But o oh because I have two and although my second is only 7 weeks, the bond these brothers have already (my first is 3.5) is so precious and I hope they grow up the best of friends. Although now my first is begging for a sister. Hehe. Congrats to your family!
ahh 3.5 years is going to be such great spacing for them!!! my first two are almost exactly 3 years apart and it’s been just right. the next will be 3 years youger than rocco! like you say, i hope they grow up best friends!! and of course, you always want what you don’t have! haha!
