[the boys’ matching swim shorts are so so good, aren’t they!!! i love them!! mens shorts // boys shorts]
[we made good use one morning of the bunners’ sudden habit of waking up before the sun. i mean… on vacation! and forward a time zone! why, babes?! i know. but the sunrise sure was beautiful!]

[i had high hopes of finding sea glass since i did for the first time *ever* last year… and !!!!! mission accomplished. it’s the little things, right?]
[nasa, yaaaay!!!!! i checked the cape canaveral launch schedule before we went down and saw that they’d be launching a rocket! such perfect timing!! we are maybe an hour and a half away on our beach, but it’s still completely captivating to watch. and then the huge rumble comes a solid 5 minutes after launch!! so so incredible.]
[matching. is. my. fav.]
[he is so affectionate in his interactions, and it melts us all :)]
[GELATO!!!]
[it was a good week to watch the skies!! the blue angels had a show coming up over the weekend, and they practiced over us aaaaaall day one day. and we were obsessed. they did their tricks over the airport, which was a bit more distant, but we still could watch in amazement. and when they weren’t doing all those mind blowing stunts, they zoomed directly over us so many times. the noise those suckers make is like half the excitement, i think!! we’d hear one coming and be like where?! where is it?! and then POP it would go flying right over. someday we’ll go to a show, but the kids wouldn’t have quite been ready yet! we were happy to let the entertainment come to us for the day!]
[this child. he looks like father abraham right here or something!! haha. i seriously can’t get enough of him, ever.]
[i’m in love with m’s swimsuit c/o garnet hill. the ruffles!!!!]

[just before heading out! this is me successfully not sobbing, high five!]
gosh! i have sooo much video from last week to compile at some point! but for now let me just say… we had a pretty perfect and beautiful week at the beach last week… my favorite little spot on this planet!! we were super chill all week long, [i didn’t even get back in the car until we left!] and just let the entertainment come to us! it was delightful! and muuuuch needed!! the weather was perfect. the beach was perfect. the everything was perfect. goodness, i love that place.
anyway, this was our first year driving down, too. we stayed in a hotel overnight and the kiddos did really well!! then, at the end of the week, we’d planned for my parents to come down and for steven to then fly back home the next day while the babes and i would take another week with my mom and dad… but the night before my parents’ flight, we got some sad news from our family up north. so, we took one more day to soak up the sun before hopping in the car and driving STRAIGHT through back to nashville!
i’m still kind of amazed that we made it in one shot like that, given that rocco had come down with a fever the night before leaving! but steven and i were also so relieved. rocco was feeling so crummy, and we just wanted to wake up at home and take care of things. isn’t that just life?! didn’t we just do a whole florida road trip with sick kids and sad news from up north scenario?! bizarre. life is weird, you guys.
it’s so hard for me to leave that place. it’s hard every time. but this time was by far the hardest, knowing i was saying goodbye to go say more goodbyes. aaand now i must load up on coffee and pack for another destination!
thank you for being the keeper of my sanity, treasure coast! we’ll be back SOON!!! if i say that out loud over and over it has to come true, right?

Wonderful pictures of your happy place! I love me some palm trees, sand and ocean and I AM IN LOVE with Florida! I just think the skies are always bluer there than anywhere else I go.
We head there on May 2 and I can’t wait!
I’m so sorry that you got sad news while you were gone. Nothing worse than sad family news and I’m at the place where that is happening more frequently than ever for my family.
Safe travels and prayers for your family. (and I hope sweet Minnie is better!!)
