…full of floor beds… bed heads… crazy kitties… breakfast cookies! <3 i love life with these little babes so sooo much.
mornings have never been super easy for me. i have to admit, i’ve had a good many over the recent years that involved a toddler practically dragging me out of bed and straight into mom mode… diapers, breakfast, cleanup, and too much screen time, sure, but coffee, please, just coffeeeee!
morning person or not, though… the days, they all go by so quickly!! and i have to be honest, i’ve realized that there’s not going to come a day where i’m ready to give up my little ones at the crack of dawn for most of the day, 5 days a week, until they’re grown. there’s just not!! i love our slower mornings together. [usually!!! we have plenty of rough ones, too, i promise!] mornings where i’m not pulling them out of their slumber and immediately hurling groggy, rushed orders at them. they’re free to wear their pajamas half the day and request 5 different breakfasts while i drink my coffee and get the laundry started. they’ve really become the best little partners to one another! of course, they fight, but they also love each other so sweetly.
i’ve had this rule while having the little, little ones, too, that says something liiiike, **never get comfortable!!!** because the very minute you sit down to rest, you know someone or something goes a little bit crazy, and you find yourself up and moving again! it can be completely exhausting, right? but well… if there’s one thing i’ve learned at this point… that’s also just life! never get comfortable. because something will change. shift. and suddenly you’re up against a whole new challenge.
sooo, now that i’ve found myself feeling pretty decent about these mornings of ours [three mornings a week we head off to preschool!], we’re officially planning for full-time kindergarten in the fall. whaaat! how did that happen so quickly?! i’m so proud of our baby girl! and i know she’s excited… but it’s also completely overwhelming for me on so many levels. and similar to that desperate feeling of wanting to roll over and going back to sleep while someone pulls on your arm, it’s easy for me to find myself longing for the pace of simpler times.
but for now! i’ll just soak up the rest of our mornings like these. 🙂 nobody said it was easy… nope! but it’s so good. and way too fast! that’s for SURE.
and! in case you’re wondering, yes, we still have this floor bed scenario going! it’s our old king size set that we stuck in the sunroom as a massively oversized ottoman for jumping and lounging! haha.
also!! the little ones’ cozy jammies were sent to them by our long time favorite, garnet hill!! maddalena absolutely adores her floral long johns [organic cotton!! and i sized up for her to grow into, by the way!] and rocco is in loooove with his super soft car top and bottom set. they make the. best. products. they’re high quality, beautiful, and they last! thank you, GH!!!! we love you, always!
xoxoxo

I mean i am curious as to how long the whole mattress as ottoman situation lasts lol! But I mean I guess they love it so why change??? And that cat! My. Goodness. Gotta enjoy these mornings while we can!

oh my gosh, i am wondering the same, haha!!! the kids are SUPER into it at this point. so… i’m sure it’ll be nice to have the floor space back one day, but for now, the entertainment factor is still going!!! and it’s cozy. 🙂 🙂 and the cat, of course, of course!!! who would expect any less haha!!

first of all that last picture is like heart eyes times a million and i cannot get over rocco’s hair. second, kindergarten – wahhhhhh…. i cannot believe i’m signing jake up for it next month and in the fall i won’t have him home on wednesdays to snuggle and chase all day!
Brittany says
aww thanks! i seriously try to pull out a phone or a camera or SOMETHING every time they have a tender moment like that because they really are just that sweet with each other and i never want to forget it!! he adores her and she is a little mommy. and then they fight. 🙂 🙂 and kindergarten is coming TOO fast!!! it’s heartbreaking, but i have to act like it’s cool and awesome. #SOS!!!!

ahhhhhhhhh YES YES YES. these mornings are crazy and do we ever really get to sit for longer than two minutes?! but so soo good. I feel the same way you do – esp since my little JS started preschool. Now I appreciate these slow long mornings that much more! The one of your kitty hanging made me laugh out loud!
also, where did you get your lovely shades?? I have been searching the internets for just the very thing!!!
love you girl!
Brittany says
yes! once you get a hint of school life, you savor home life even more!! and the shades – they were here when we moved in!! these photos are a bit desaturated, but in others you can see the color better. i wish they were white, to be honest! ha! anyway, i have no idea where they are from! sorry babe!!! and happy birthday to your littlest preshy!!
