!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i’d wanted to go to the symphony for SO long, but never had… soooo, for my birthday back in november, my parents gave me tickets to see diana krall with the nashville symphony! we may have been some of the youngest in attendance, 😉 but i’ve been a huge diana krall fan for a long while now. it was such a treat for me to trade in my sparkly house slippers for my sparkly heels that night [even if there was no hiding the general exhaustion on my face. haha.] and hear diana in person at the beauuuutiful schermahorn symphony center!
so, on the eve before valentine’s, steven and i popped into an uber [and i didn’t even have a mild anxiety attack over riding all the way downtown in a stranger’s car!] and my sister and mom held down kiddo duty at our house. we managed to snag a couple glasses of red before sliding into our velvet covered seats, and i miiiiight have teared up when she opened with my favorite, let’s fall in love. <3
i’m officially ready to be a regular symphony attender!! there are so many things i’d go to! actually, i’d really love to go to a performance out of the family series at some point, because i know maddalena would absolutely love it. and of course, for years i’ve wanted to go for handel’s messiah at christmas time!
anyone need a symphony buddy? 🙂
xoxoxo!

We’ll be your symphony buddies! My husband and I love to go (we even traveled to Philly to see a specific piece played). There is something so special about live music that just doesn’t compare to recordings. And I laughed when you said the comment about being young- we are always some of the youngest people as well and older people come up to us and say things like, “it’s so nice to see younger people enjoying the arts”. But really, where all my millennials at?!?! Cause they sure aren’t at the orchestra. Such a fun Valentine’s date!!

Oh yes to symphony and red wine! I’m totally fine with being the youngest in the room! It has to happen right we are the future! We took our first Uber last year for a wine party and i was freaking out. I can’t handle it. Will be doing it again tomorrow actually soooo. Think of me.

haha!!! i WILL be thinking of you!!! the uber thing – it’s completely unnatural to me, but i’m trying to be “flexible.” haha. it does help as long as you survive it!!!
