we’ve been shuffling little bedrooms around in our house this week!! after upsizing maddalena’s bed to a full size just the other day… i quickly realized the best spot for the twin bed would be in rocco’s room! because obviously, i figured, he will be the next to use it!
but!!! not so fast!!! i couldn’t possibly start working on his big boy room without documenting his little nursery just the way it was. i had yet to photograph it, because i figured there were a number of touches and things that were seemingly “unfinished” in his room. i think i was hyper-aware that we moved in and transitioned his old nursery [which was previously our office area!] to this room, and never felt like i nailed down a “grand plan” in my own mind…
but gosh… then it just hit me! he’s TWO now!! and this has been the perfect little space for our happily growing boy. he loves running in there and playing with his cars. he loves all the floor space to roll around on. he loves his toys and stuffed animals, and he loves that he can run back and forth from sissy’s room, which is right next to it.
so, the time has come! we’re starting his big boy room! i’ve already put the bed against the wall where the changing table was and rearranged the decor… and he’s so excited! but these memories of my rocco’s little nursery in this house will always be such special ones. he was only 4 months old as i absolutely scrambled to balance his infancy with packing up the old house and prepping this one. there were a few points where steven was traveling for work, and i felt so guilty that i was just dragging my tiny baby around, feeling overwhelmed and exhausted… but he was so patient! he settled into this spot so sweetly… and gosh, i love him so so much. <3
