!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, i clearly have a problem. except, no! i don’t! this pink, perfumed fluff is absolute happiness!
i was soooo disappointed when my potted peonies didn’t seem to be doing very well this spring. they bloomed happily at our old house, but just haven’t been as happy in their new location. so, i planted those babies in the ground earlier this year with high hopes, only to find that one had already died! woops! the other one is actually doing great, however, it’s smaller this year and didn’t bloom at all. which was a bummer!
so! on a rainy friday afternoon… after a lovely little morning playdate with friends! but one where the last thing you want to do is drag your little ones grocery shopping, load babies and groceries in the rain, then carry as many bags and babes as you possibly can up all the stairs to your kitchen… [which has been really the only downside i’ve found to our split level upstairs living area!] we headed off to gather sustenance…
[not including free cookies, because they appear to be hiding them lately. there goes the last remaining strand of motivation for the three of us! oh, they’re just for the kids, you say? hahaaa, no. the kids are just an excuse to reach in and reward yourself. 😉 although, i have seen childless adults indulge with no shame. maybe this is why they’re hiding the free cookies? waa!!]
…and glory, hallelujah! wouldn’t you know, toward the end of our journey, we happened right upon peonies! fresh and lovely, ready to bloom for days to come!!
obviously, i have not stopped admiring them. i mean, i have. not. stopped! smelling and gazing and moving them around because i want them everywhere i go. photographing them obnoxiously, because anything this beautiful and this temporary must be, at the very least, visually preserved forever and ever and ever. 🙂
i absolutely mean it with my whole entire everything when i say all i really need in life to be happy is family, friends, fluffies, and flowers. <3
[…oh, and funds for all that, i suppose. gosh darnit, why can’t anything just be simple?!]
so! i’ve had a lot on my mind lately, but today i am ever so grateful for a new week, a new morning, and all the new mercies!! including these pink beauties. which i cannot stop sticking my nose in, because OH, that smell is pure heaven.
xoxoxo!
[ps. market tote // shorts // floral top – on sale!]

Oh they smell so fantastic don’t they!? The most gorgeous of blooms and the very best shade of pink! At least if you couldn’t grow them this year you at least stumbled upon them. Love them! Now you little kitties stay away from them ya hear? Let them bloom and grow without your help. 😉
