oh my. how does this happen? look at my babies! my growing babies… who run on their own little legs! and have their own hilarious personalities! who talk and laugh and play, melting my heart into the puddliest puddle, so much so that it’s just completely evaporating in the glorious summer heat. my babies!
in one week, he will be two. two years old! the fastest two years of my whole life, i think. and oh, my rocco… he is pure joy. my tiny prince charming. my island baby. he loves to be one with the animals. wears his [mostly either excited or ticked off] heart on his sleeve. smiling is his favorite! as well as climbing, jumping, running, and life in the buff. 
from the time he wakes in the morning, he is all about “eisshy” [sissy!]. oh yes, eisshy and gocco [last week he was dah-do!] are the best little team in the whole wide world… and for me, that is just heaven to witness. tractors, cars, and water to splash in are pretty much his passions, sound effects his first language. his surfer hair and flirty side smile get me every siiiingle time…. and obviously, he gets away with murder around here, as he is the squishiest, yummiest little man muffin this world has ever known! rounding out our princess world with his ruggedly handsome boyishness could not be any more ridiculously wonderful.
in one month, she will be five. f-i-v-e! five years! my maddalena girl! and how the heck i’m rising in the morning bearing the knowledge that i only have approximately twenty years left until she’s off and married or some such ridiculous nonsense, i don’t even know! she’s my sidekick. my mini. she’s gentle and sweet with a completely respectable side of spice. she’s creative, caretaking, conscientious, and overthinks absolutely everything [where on earth would she ever get a trait like that? ;)]. she loves deeply because her heart is the very hugest. she’s a singing, dancing, dress-loving, precious princess, yet she’ll dig in the mud and hold bugs on any afternoon. she’s always up for an adventure! and all that makes me so so proud. she’s told me she’s excited to start pre-k a couple of weeks after her birthday… and though i’m slightly devastated that her babyhood has flown by in such a blink [understatement. plus, we’ve never really even spent much time apart :(], i am excited for her. <3
oooh, my bunnies!! you are my loves. you make my days the very best they’ve ever been, and i am so happy you are mine. as if we haven’t told you a million times already, your daddy and i are endlessly proud of you both! and we always will be.
now! on to 2 and 5!!!

Oh girl I feel you! And to have such big milestones all happening right away is a lot to bear! You have such wonderful babes and they are so lucky to have you as their mama!
