…a few summer greens and whites from our home lately!!
oooh, you know how much i love my plants!! haha! they’re like green family members, aren’t they?! and we have been all excited over here about our very. first. magnolia blossom outside on our baby magnolia tree!! it smells absolutely magical!!
however, as far as indoor plants go… oh boy! our darling 6 month old kittens have definitely done a number on most of them. my aloes? trampled! my fiddle leaf fig? they’ve been pulling the leaves right off! [hopefully they’re over this phase, i really couldn’t bear it!] and it’s safe to say that at this point in life, i forget to water a lot of the time. watering schedule completely out the window! it’s survival of the fittest around here!
so… while nothing replaces the freshness of living plants and flowers, i’ve been really gravitating more and more to some staple artificial flora in my household! for a long time i was particularly on the hunt for some topiaries to go on my mantel, in hopes of sprucing up an area overtaken by a giant tv, and truly just nowhere near complete. [we have cabinets to paint on either side, and the wall paint to touch up after our chimney leak gets fixed! so much work to do in this house!] it took me a long time for me to find the perfect ones… buuut i finally found my dream, maintenance-free artificial topiaries from silk plants direct, and i LOVE them!! ordering something like that can even feel a bit risky sometimes, but even in person – they’re so gorgeous! what. a. relief. i’ve searched high and low, and these are really the fakeys of all fakeys, it seems. they fit in perfectly around here! so. i’m happy!!! if you’re in the market, you can use the code BLOGGER10 to take 10% off your order at silk plants direct!!
a few other little items of note…
i can never resist the special white magic chalk painting treatment i like to do on pretty much everything, but my fancy antique store frame and my terra cotta planter are my absolute favorite finished products!! the planter even had this natural bleed-through situation that i had no idea would happen, but it’s so gloriously antiquey-looking! and the frame is in our front hall. i kind of like it with nothing in it, but… it probably needs something? i don’t know!
when i peek out the window and see my bunny babies sweetly enjoying the outdoors together… gosh, that is the dream, isn’t it! i love this phase of life where i can send them outside to play together!!
i got matching vine bracelets for my mom, sister, and i, and i love mine soooo much. i’ve yet to take it off!!
our sweet neighbor passed me one of her beautiful asiatic lily blossoms through the fence and it’s been beautiful for days!!
did everyone see the free magnolia market plant illustrations?!?! i totally didn’t until “my blog friend laurie” [as my family would know her! haha! i love blog friendship.] pointed me in their direction!! so, i printed some off on coffee-stained paper for an antique look, and i loooove them!! miss maddalena even requested the thyme one for her room. 🙂
ahhh, home and garden talk!! i can never really get enough! 😉
[and to be clear, the topiaries were sent to me c/o silk plants direct in exchange for my honest opinion! since i love plants and giving my opinion – win win! thank you so much!]

When you find something good like that it’s like uhm yeah stock up!!! I’m such a fan of how you printed out those magnolia prints as you know already 😉 blog friendships are just the best!
