[oh, all the pretty blooms! i’m going to figure out how to make jasmine work in nashville, because… gosh, that fragrance. i need it! and nooope, i did not make it out of town without my favorite comfy cozy balloon sleeve sweater! if it would ever go on sale, i’d buy 8, i’m not even kidding.]
[there’s a little bitty rainbow on the right!!!]
[spotting the plane!]
[“mom! mom!” rocco man has been so proud of his little swimming skills! i love when he calls to make sure i see how well he’s swimming with dada!]
[leave it to this girly to come walking up with what appeared to be a golden ladybug!! apparently, it was a “golden tortoise beetle,” but it was truly the most gorgeous little bug i’d ever seen! i mean… it was GOLD!!]
[this little guy was so cute! we followed him as he did his sideways scurry, which he clearly did not like… but we couldn’t resist. sorry, mr. crab! we just thought you were adorable!]
[if you can’t tell, these babies are completely in their element :)]
[maaaybe if i put a big bow on my tush it will distract from the fact that it could really use a workout?! also, scalloped tanlines all summer, please!]
[MANATEES!!!!! swimming along the shoreline! it’s hard to see, but oh, i was so excited to catch a peek at them!!! now, if i could only snag a baby sea turtle sighting – it’s been since i was so tiny! i would seriously be the happiest.]
[madd loves to hold salamanders, so daddy catches them for her… and this little guy? with his tiny yittle hands!!! i can’t. if a lizard can be cute, this one is the winner of lizard cuteness.]
[i suuure love my bunch of silly island monkeys! <3]
i seriously can’t believe we already wrapped up a whole week of beach getaway time!! that first gorgeous week went way, way too fast… and then! having to send steven home and back to reality at the end of it was just, ughhhhhh, the worst! i was so not ready for that. i love vacation us! and it’s not that i don’t love home life, either… i’m a total homebody! but it just feels like there’s this mounting pressure in our day-to-day [adulting is hard!], a lot has even changed since the last time we were here [much of it sadly involving death and illness] and… you know… i got 99 problems but a beach ain’t one! so, here i am! and fortunately enough, this is a second home to me, so my homebodiness can even remain intact! yay! 🙂
everything here is sunny and simplified and good, and i have sure savored and soaked it up! i miss stevo [sorry ’bout your real life work day today, boo!], but i know the fluffies are sooooo happy to have him back, so fiiiine, fine! you know i love those fluffies so much. and i’m thankful my boo is willing to head back into the trenches so we can stay oceanside just a smidgey longer!!
anyway! the little bunnies and i are here now with my parents who arrived here shortly after steven headed out… so, yaaay for us!!! i always figure since i’ll be doing my job anywhere i go, i might as well mom it up in paradise while i can, right? …yes. the answer to that is a big, big, big ole yes!
cheers to you, crashing ocean noises and salty breeze in my hair! cheeeeers to you.
