a few notes from the homefront!
we happily headed off to m’s dance class a few days ago… we were punctual!! we had our lives all together!! i had makeup on and it wasn’t raining yet! aaaand… it was also the week of spring break. there was no dance class. which i remembered as i pulled all the way into the parking lot. waaaa.
also, i know, i know… there is no shame in my sweater game, no SHAME! told you, right? same sweater, a million days in a row. totally worth it. and i promise i’ve washed it.
sidenote, i feel like i am the only person who can’t wear ponytails for more than 10 minutes, because it pulls on my head and hurts! what is this problem that no one acknowledges??? are there others like me??! every time i see ariana grande and her insane pony, i just can’t imagine!
m recently requested a playlist featuring, “justin beaver,” which fills my heart with pure and utter joy… and then i let her bake up some banana oat bites while brother took his nap! i adore her an unbelievable amount. <3
my dreamboat boy is still in his major mommy phase… just charming me away with this awesome new whole-face smile and these passionate face grabbing smooches that he must have seen on tv… haha! but one exception is definitely when daddy comes in proximity of the blender, the stars align, and that is rocco’s happy place! that boy loves a blender. and his daddy!
aaaand the kittens are nuts and adorable. digging in my plants, driving minnie crazy, and cutely cuddling all the time. overall, they are a delightful addition to the family! and despite my previous statements that i would never again have indoor cats… i’m a cat lady. i’m still kind of mad that i’m back to cat litter life, but. i’m learning to just… give up. haha.
so, whaaat else! basically, i’m drinking a thousand cups of coffee today! steven was gone for the first half of the week, so the bunnies and i went back and forth from the farm to our house, but mostly stayed at the farm. i’m sooo glad we can do that!!! because otherwise i’d probably lose my mind when steven travels. also, i love an excuse to be at the farm. 🙂 then! rocco got a mini-cold, and that’s had me up all night for a few nights. nothing a little coffee can’t fix, though… right? [hah.] but also, there’s a chance that one day he might grow up and do things other than snuggle with me, and i literally can’t even handle that thought. also, i need to do boring grownup things like make a vet appointment for my three fluffies, and further investigate beneficial nematodes [whatttt!], and make a list of house to-dos for spring, and also get the cat out of my fiddle leaf fig tree [or “fiddly fig,” as my husband calls it, yes yes yessss.] but ummmm… i’ll probably have more coffee first? 🙂
and! a couple ps.-es!!
- i want a moon garden!
- my mom texted me this gorgeous children’s castle a few days ago… what a dream!!!
- nashvillians and potential visiters… enjoy nashville in one catchy tune! haha! i love this, honestly.
- i do not feel like duchess kate admitting this, but have you ever watched impractical jokers?! i hadn’t seen it in ages, but i turned it on the other night thinking i was far too mentally and emotionally drained to find it anything more than mildly amusing and mostly immature… but i ended up trying so hard not to wake up my house with laughter! when they have to say things to unsuspecting people.. i mean, i just can’t. i can’t. i cannot. it’s ridiculous. one of my favorites so far is when they ask people to borrow their phone for ridiculous reasons [that the other guys are telling them to say through an ear piece and they have to say it or they lose the challenge], but 1. it’s total man humor, and 2. i feel like you have to dedicate yourself to a whole episode before you start belly laughing. but when they’re tailors at a menswear shop! stop it, i’m rolling. “as soon as i get home, i’m blogging about these ankles.”
AMEN! happy weekend! more coffee! bottoms up!!

I’m going to have to look into that show I’ve never heard of it! Sounds like it is hilarious. Oh when the husband travels the coffee and the parents become a life force!! So glad you have them so close by! I do love the sweater and yes about ponies! It’s either loose top knot or down. Ha!

oh, you MUST!!! i’m watching it now, i seriously can’t say no any time it’s on. haha!! and aaaamen to the coffee/parents life force!! i’m also relieved i’m not alone on the pony tail issue!!
Bruna says
Ok ponies, I used to wear them ALL.THE.TIME. in high school, but all of a sudden in my late 20s/ early 30s they started to hurt! I dont know if i’m doing it differently or what, but now unless its a low pony it wont last longer than a few mins lol. That is so nice that you live so close to your parents! Mine are about 6 hours away and how I wish I could drop by on a whim and visit them! Cherish that always! We got some of those moon flower vines last summer and they totally bloom at night and are gorg, get some right meow!
