how, just how is it wednesday already?! ash wednesday, to be exact! and march!! march is finally here!!
well, anyway. let’s flip back to last weekend for a second, because, for us it was definitely the best one out of the whole month!
1. the babes and i spent friday all scantily clad right in our own back yard… thanks to mother nature and some serious generosity on her part! it. was. fantastic! SPRING! get here spring! i want you, i need you, oh baby, oh baby! [ps. name that movie!]
2. the kittens, rosette and romeo, those precious kittiepies! they’ve been with us nearly two weeks now, and are seeming more and more ready to become part of the whole household. maybe it’s also that i’m so SO ready to let them out of the master bathroom, but i’m also kiiind of terrified. tiny kitties! tiny claws! oh, but they are the sweetest little things ever, and i am in love. <3
3. we celebrated my mommy’s birthday last saturday! she is the best, most special woman of all the women out there. it’s true. and that is why she received, from my daddio, the most glorious display of floral heaven in an antique french olive bucket. oooh la la! still swooning!
4. big things!!!! on sunday we made it to church, all four of us! AND! i carried my all time favorite bag! my favorite bag is not a diaper bag, nor is it a mom backpack! it felt seriously amazing. [although, the backpack is game changing, fo sho.] i snuck this dress in for a sweet little second wearing before spring, semi-twinned with my babiest gal [her dress is an all. time. fav. OH, also!! a throwback to church twinning when she was just 3 months older than rocco!!!], and! rocco survived the church nursery. he still hates it, still cries through the entirety, and i was still so burdened with guilt… but i sat through a whole church service! sidenote: i can actually spot our barns, big and little, waaaay out in the distance in the shot of maddalena and i outside of church! barely visible, but since i know where to look i can make them out in the hills beyond that really scenic mini-van. 😉
5. anyway, my poor, sweet rocco bunny! he even sniffled through his post-church nap. my babes are not fans of the drop-and-run mom game. and i get it, you know? i really don’t like to go to a party where i don’t know anybody. no. no, i hate that, actually. i will avoid that at all costs. i like to go to a party with my friend where i can hang out with my friend by the snack table and then dance with my friend like no one else is even there. what kind of party is this? i don’t know. a college party, sounds like. but i think my kiddos feel the same… and that, i guess, is why we barely survive the church nursery scenario! with maddalena, we used to just bring her into big church and keep distractions on hand. however! boy bunny is a bit too rambunctious, so i just want him to be able to play and know that i’m close by!
6. steven got the little babers their own soccer ball! he played soccer in high school and that was possibly a nice 12% of his appeal for me in the very beginning. 12? too much? too little? well, i had a thing for shin guards in general [maybe because they make calves look big?] and practice made him nice and tan. haha. although, i’m not so much for actual sports games… but anyway!! it was cute watching them play out back for a little!!
and that! was our fiiinal february weekend. it was a good one. and hallalujah, march is here!!! happy march, friends!!!

10 Things I Hate About you!

Definitely ten things. Oh that movie was on repeat my junior year. I age myself. I know. Will you be declawing the siblings? It’s so scary letting them roam free and then if a kid leaves a door open… you get the drill. I’m sure they will be great! And good for you and church! That’s a long time coming I’m sure and I know the guilt game is so strong. Maybe he will get to know a friend and he can hang out by the snack table with that guy? Have to start somewhere maybe? And this area that we live in now is like uber soccer crazy and I’m so not a fan of watching. Nope. I’ll continue to encourage track and field. Short events. Lol

i loooved that movie so much, too!!!! i haven’t seen it in ages and now i want to! 🙂 and no declawing for our two, but yes – i’m a nervous wreck that they’ll get out a door or locked in a closet! it will be interesting with kids, to say the least! but we did it growing up, so. i’m sure it’ll be fine! and agreed on the church topic! you have to start somewhere… but the start keeps being so traumatizing we don’t get anywhere. haha. but i will say… i just don’t think it’s his kind of party in the 1 year old room. it wasn’t madd’s either. she now loves the 4 year old class. so. time!

Oh 10 things,,,, how obsessed was I with that movie!! I have a vivid memory of going to see it in the theater….probably because it was the day after I chopped all my hair off…like all…like boy but….I dont know what I was thinking!! Never again! Never! And then I sat there and watched Julia Styles and her glorious long locks and cried and cried lol. Happy belated to your Mama!! Those flowers are gorg and what a beautiful farm home appropriate arrangement at that! What are the long stemmy ones? So pretty! And the green ones that almost look like rosemary? Such a nice touch 🙂 Good for you getting to church, hope Rocco adjusts and makes friends in time 🙂 The bit about soccer made me laugh, and I totally get it haha
