welcome to our home, tiny, precious baby kitties!!!!
last week, a crazy little backwards thing happened and steven convinced me that we needed kittens. ha! what?!? talk about tables turning. i literally didn’t even think he’d ever let me get another indoor cat, like, ever after all the years we had where sophie lived in the house and peepeed. on. everything. i mean, we loved having her with us, but what a challenge that was! and of course, i totally never pictured my own fluff-devoted self ever listing off reasons why we didn’t need to adopt a new animal! that’s just crazy talk, right? but for half a day there we were in some weird twilight zone… and then, eventually, i was like “wait, actually, this is my dream. kittens? LET’S GO!”
i’ve honestly missed having another little fluff sneaking around the house since we moved and made sophie a barn kitty [which was her dream life, by the way!]. plus, we both want our babies growing up with a happy house full of fluffy friends, and poor rocco has been so bummed that minnie doesn’t want to be loved on by a toddler! haha. but another dog is definitely not happening any time soon. i did have a little phase where i begged for a bunny [have you seen the angora rabbits?!!!! want!!!], but practically speaking, that doesn’t sound so great, either. and my pleading for chickens, i think, would just lead to a yard full of chicken poop! so, i let that one go… for now. 😉
the truth is, too, that we’ve needed the cheer around here. as if winter doesn’t come with its own amount of blah, we’ve also just lost too many furry family members over the last several months [at the farm, which happens when you have a farm full of animals, but is still so so hard – horses, casey and dusty. family pup, penny. cats, missy, maddie, princess, and unfortunately, even our sophie… which i honestly haven’t even wanted to mention, but she is so so missed]. then, at the start of the year, my poor husband became extremely ill with a mysterious something that literally knocked him flat for a full month, which was just absolutely terrible and fully exhausting in every way for each of us, to say the very least. so, i don’t know. lately almost everything has started to feel like the life’s been sucked right out of it all, you know?!
…except for sunsets.
…except for flowers.
…except for music.
…except for coffee. [quite life-giving, that coffee!]
…except for hugs.
…except. for. KITTENS!!!
and so!! we have new babies!! and they are the absolute cutest little things ever. romeo is the little black fuzzy snugglemuffin and rosette is the black and white lady with sweet sass and mischief in her eyes! she’s named after maddalena rose, of course… and oh, you can just guess who named her! rosette sophie, maddalena decided. 😉 they’re brother and sister, adopted from the humane society last week at 11 weeks old. yesterday, the little ones and i took them for a checkup with our vet, which confirmed that they are ooooh so purrrrrfect!
for now, they are living in our master bathroom [mostly so that they can acclimate, and also so we don’t lose them! they’re so itty bitty!] and they seem to already fit in so wonderfully around here. they are cuddly and playful and i am so so so excited to have more little feet padding around this house of ours!!
come visit us and snuggle, okay!! and if you’re allergic, well, we probably have some zyrtec we can offer you!!

Little kittens are the sweetest things ever! My favorite was Rocco (my first kitto) and he would flatten out his ears and shake his little honey before pouncing. Literally the most adorable thing ever coming from a tiny fur ball. So glad these two siblings found a fantastic home with you all!!
