the only candidate in the running for the kids election that i’d heard of was llama llama [as in red pajama!], but apparently pete the cat is another huge favorite! m said she voted for llama llama [we have a couple of llama llama books!], and apparently rocco voted for all of them. 🙂 and of course, they were sooo proud of their stickers!!
oooh, how i love those sweet little voters of mine!
…but then i feel hopeful!! because!! regardless of your views on this election, we are each equipped with the most powerful tool there is. and that is prayer. it’s the most important thing we do in our day. it brings us so much closer to God’s peace and love and light and unifies us in the name of truth. and we have a massive opportunity to show that right now. here. in america!
so, especially in this next week, but really… forever! i want to make sure and channel the energy that fuels my fear into prayer. when i’m tempted to feel angry. when i’m tempted to lie awake in bed wondering what my future and my children’s futures will look like, i’m remembering to pray instead. i know that God can work through anyone. He can change even the most corrupt hearts!
anyway, i was reading in my favorite little devotional the other day, and i swear, that book is the best. it’s short enough to be completely unintimidating, hallelujah, but still always so on point for me! i just loved this bit about brother lawrence and how he practiced the presence of God. “even if he peeled potatoes, he did it for the glory of God.” that is everything, right? if we all defined ourselves with that kind of purpose, we’d hardly have anything to fight over!
i sometimes share these on my snapchat [beebee2211], but i thought i’d share my favorite parts here, too, this time. 🙂

I think that is just the best idea for the kids to have a place to vote as well! We have to start them young otherwise they don't see the importance in suuuuch an important thing! And excellent passages too!

How fun to get to vote at the library and to have a station set up for the kids to have their own election! Adorable.
I wish we could vote early- that would be so convenient. But, alas.

amen and amen!
