oh, essential oils!! we still use them daily in our house. π here are three favorites we’re loving for summertime!
mother’s touch – this blend combines helichrysum with tamanu oil and is soooo healing! it’s the perfect thing to have on hand for bumps and bruises and all those summertime booboos that you [oh, and the kids!] might get from having a little too much fun. π they even have a little scar treatment recipe on the web site! isn’t that handy!
lavender – if i had to pick one essential oil to have an use forever and ever… it would be lavender!! i use it for just about every reason… and in the summertime? it’s great on burns! i like to break open an aloe leaf and combine fresh aloe and lavender on any skin that might be sensitive from a day of sunbathing. also helpful on bites and stings!
bug off! – ugh, the bugs have been crazy this year! i used to never get bug bites, but these days i’ll easily acquire new little itchy spots every time i’m outside if i’m not careful! however… i don’t do chemical bug sprays. not on me, and especially not on the little ones! so, i loooove that this blend is super easy to mix up in a little spray bottle [i mix about 20 drops per ounce with part water part witch hazel!] and throw in your bag. i’m never picking blackberries without it again!
all three of these came from my favorite sources for essential oils, rocky mountain oils. i’ve used them the most over these last few years, and have recommended them time and time again. everyone always ends up loving them! [and nooo, there’s no sign up involved. not selling anything here. :)] they’re also a great resource… i love the information shared about each product as well as this pretty infographic on essential oil basics. plus, they have a comparison chart to reference blends by other popular brands and info on dilution rates for children! SO helpful! anyway, they were nice enough to send me a few of my requested favorites this time around, so thank you, RMO!
if you are an oils user or maybe just curious, i wrote about my approach to essential oils last year. i also have a post about oils i used for labor!! [now that was crazy. word to the wise: if you’re getting an epidural… use oils after you get it. my contractions were insane! but, hey, i didn’t need any pitocin!]
anyway! i’m not quiiiite ready to say the f-word yet π […you know, the one that rhymes with mall and ball and wall!] so, i thought i’d share since summer is still in action! and honestly… sun and bugs and booboos are really, totally still in action. good thing we have our oils! π
xoxo!
