…treasure hunting in the dirt with my little bunnies last weekend!
these little shots remind me so much of some i have from when maddalena was rocco’s age exactly! oh time, it flies, it flies. anyway. i love them so ridiculously much. so, because little moments like that are my favorite, and because it’s monday…
here are 10 things that i’m kiiiiind of in love with!
1. chocolate chip cookie dough larabars. like, are you kidding me? 4 ingredients!! cashews, dates, chocolate chips, and sea salt. and it’s heaven to me!! i’ve had a solid addiction to these specific ones since i was pregnant with rocco bunny. have yet to kick it! i love you, larabars!
2. watching rocco walk. anywhere and everywhere. it’s the greatest thing i have ever seen. he’s not a graceful, dainty princess, he’s a determined little man! so it’s a whole new ball game for me. his feet smack the ground as he follows his sister and looks around for things to push and pull and carry and move and i’m completely in love. while i’m at it let me list everything about him because every morning i wake up to those blue eyes and that big smile and i’m a goner before the day even begins. 🙂
3. with lavender and grace pillows! they seriously just light up a room and instantly bring so much meaning into my home. and bianca sends her own gorgeous dried lavender on each bundle and i am obsessed. 🙂
4. maddalena’s curls! oh, my sweet princess! when her hair is wet, it’s long enough to touch her tushy… but as it dries it springs right back into golden spirals that shirley temple would be so envious of. how does it do that?! i never want it to change! but mine did, so it probably will. just like everything else that comes with the sweetness of childhood, i am savoring away!
5. COFFEE!! hooow many times can one girl sing the love songs of coffee? it’s warm and it’s motivating and i will sing forever. i’m on my second cup right now, which is exciting news because i’ll probably allow myself a good third!
6. this italian guy’s instagram videos! i’m probably going to watch this all day. i mean, i don’t really know who he is, and he might actually be a little crazy. at first, i didn’t understand what he was doing? do they just make up dances in their free time and do them on boats? [also, they wear like no clothes because they’re on boats, so sorry if that offends your eyes.] buuuut… hello! he’s having fun! oh my gosh. and it hit me… i miss having fun. plain simple ridiculous fun in all of life. i haven’t even had a kitchen dance party in WEEKS. can you believe that? so, this guy and his crazy boat ways… yes, please! plus, just look at how happy his skinny model gal is. she’s having fun, too. and he’s friends with zac efron? who is also having fun? sold. love it. i want to be crazy. i’m tired of taking life seriously. i’ve been so absorbed in “figuring it out” lately, establishing some sort of faux-structure that doesn’t come naturally to me at all. OVER IT! maybe i should pour my wine early today, really call upon my inner gianluca! 😉
7. my mom. okay, she miiiight have just suggested i put her on this list, since we’re facetiming right now. as we do! and i love facetiming with my mom over coffee. also, she saves my life and my sanity like, every day. moms FTW. i love you, mom!
8. RUFFLES! specifically… on all my clothesies. please. i got these tunics for fall!! buy one get one, hey hey!!
9. my instax camera 🙂 and all the moments of happiness i have captured with it!! i just ordered a second little instax mini photo album because i’ve already filled up my first! i can’t even even EVEN express how happy those shots continue to make me. simple little wonders!
10. and going back to the photos… the treasures we find at the farm!! i think i’ve probably mentioned this before, but in our “treasure hunting” spot we find random little pieces of the past. but actually… there’s stuff hidden all over the farm. it was apparently the location of a small skirmish between union soldiers on our side of the river, and confederates on the other side. there was a blacksmith located on our property, too, i believe? my family has a heck of a lot of civil war mule shoes hangin around! i haven’t found all the coolest stuff, myself… but my favorite thing that i’ve found is a soldier’s clay marble! every time i see it, i just think… what are the odds?? it’s tiny and round and dirt colored. but i was meant to find it!! and just yesterday my mom found an early 1900s overall button! like, what?! who wore this?! i’m also always unearthing bits of old mason jars, which is fun. and just a few weeks ago, steven had his first treasure find, which was a chunk of brown pottery! anyway, i was trying to explain to steven yesterday why it means so much to me to find these tiny connections with the past… and i think it’s just that our world today is so crazy and fast moving and wrapped up in itself! i get so overwhelmed keeping up. so to stand there in nature and find this tiny but significant link to a completely different time and way of life [a much more difficult life! we are so spoiled!], well, it’s refreshing! and i appreciate it a whole, whole lot!
so… HAPPY MONDAY! my little loves and i are unwinding from a fun, fun weekend, but it’s bright and pretty and the sunshine is calling!!

I just love the treasures you find on the farm! How cool is that? I could probably find like… A bottle cap from the builders if I searched hard sooo. Yeah a tie to the past is important. And what a list! Moms and coffee and just having fun! And those lovely pillows! They look like they were MEANT for you.

Larabars!! I really like the chocolate chip ones and the pb cookie ones!! Looove those pillows, ordered my first custom pillow recently and can't wait for it to arrive 🙂 Those tunics are super cute, I got a black one and a grey one wear them as a dress to work alllll the time in the summer and plan to transition them to "tunic" mode come fall 🙂 And yes, moms and coffee and curls forever and always <3
