[diving into the toy stash first thing! and m nursing her baby, be still my heart. when she finished she even went “click!” as if to snap her nursing bra back. gaaaah, i love her. nothing gets by that girl!]
[maddalena took a couple of years to really come to terms with sand, and rocco took abouuut… 60 seconds. 😉 it’s such fun to observe how differently they approach things! i love it so!]
[despite fighting off a cold and teething away, rocco loved his first ocean visits! and miss madd got back to her old ways at the hose off station. :)]
[spotted a sneaky little friend while foraging for some aloe leaves // not a bad place to take some work calls! // pretty, everything pretty // baby lovemuffin leaving a trail of fun wherever he goes]
[gorgeous weather, sand in every cranny]
[baby boy took the best nap one day after a bath and woke up with the besttttt hair!]
[sunset skies // sweet curls and bows // my bestest loves!]
oh my gosh, have we needed this trip! i mean, i can’t even describe how amazing it was last week to steal steven away from work, check out from the regular routine, head on down to the atlantic coast, settle into the comfort of a home that’s actually been a home to me for longer than any other home… my whole life, in fact! …and BASK!! spend time together. and just… be us. and, you know, waking up to ocean views, sounds, and smells doesn’t hurt too much, either!
preeetty wonderful, all of it. except, of course, that poor rocco was sick with a cold for so much of the week, which was sooo much less than ideal, bless his precious heart. [babies and colds! saddest thing ever! not to mention all the sleeplessness involved…] still, our days together flew right on by… and when time came for steven to head back to the real world, i was SO sad about it! i told him i just wasn’t at all ready for us to be real life us again because I LOVE VACATION US! but then, he reminded me that summer’s coming, and summer us can be pretty great, too. which is true! he’s right. i love summer us. 🙂
okay, and a little side story: one afternoon, we were all four standing together with our feet in the ocean [well, holding rocco], and these sweet girls stopped and offered to take a few quick iphone photos of us there and email them to me!! it was the sweetest thing, and i was so touched by the gesture. BUT. i’m pretty sure she must’ve misheard me when i gave her my email address because i never got any photos. suuuuuch a bummer! and what a dummy i am for not double checking! oh well. at least it was sweet! i just love people sometimes!
so, now my little mama has tagged in for a spell with me and the bambini and i’m sooo grateful to get some quality time with her here, as well!! you know, until we must one day migrate on back. 😉 but since this whole wonderful mom job keeps me going around the clock… well, i’m giving location flexibility a major thumbs up!
[…aaand i literally just started falling asleep while sitting up, typing. hah!]

These pictures just make the week seem nothing but perfection. Which colds and Steven leaving aside it sounds like it was! Glad you get to keep on soaking up the Rays down there for a bit longer!

Looks like the best trip! I can't wait to take our little boy to the beach later this summer (and after he's born)! Random, but do you remember where Stephen got his bathing suite (or where you got it for him)? My husband would love it. Thanks!
