do you ever get in bed at night and think nothing but, “ahhhh I LOVE BED!!!” i mean, bed is the best, yes? we have a whole lot of cuddles goin’ on in our big, cozy king-size. cuddles, under the sheet hiding [maddalena’s favorite game], and plenty of sideways toddler sleeping, haha!
and oh, on top of that, a well-made bed every single morning is totally my JAM! i love hospital corners. i love perfect folds and tucks. and i totally think making it all up, pillows and all, is the best way to set the tone for the day. next to coffee. always coffee! coffee in bed if you can swing it. and then make the bed. π
however!! i must admit, i no longer make my bed every morning! waa, i know! but once my sweet little maddalena was born it became our constant retreat and there was no sense in making it up only to take it all down every day. it was a cozy spot for a baby who absolutely didn’t nap without mommy and a mom who was exhausted so that was fine, let’s snuggle. <3
i should probably start making it again, at this point, but i still love that it’s an open retreat, you know? because when the bed is made it’s like, oh no no, don’t you wrinkle up my perfect bed!
so, since the bed goes unmade so much of the time, i can at least have beautiful sheets!! and my newest sheets, my newest, most glooorious sheet acquisition courtesty of garnet hill… they are indeed beautiful and LUXURIOUS!! they’re made of the softest egyptian cotton i’ve ever felt, and not only that but the linen-colored stitching detail matches our color scheme flawlessly. our bedroom walls are the darkest painted of all our rooms and i have suuuch a thing with having all creamy white everything against our darker walls! i love it. i love it so much our bedroom in this house is nearly identical to how we did it in the last!
ps. you definitely should not teach your child that this is okay. nope. shouldn’t do it. because it’s not!

ha yes! Teaching them the fun of jumping on the bed…done that and have regretted it too π But that live shot of you two is darling and makes it all worth it right?! π I am so envious of your king size bed!! The frame is gorgeous and while a queen was fine for just me and Mike we now have a almost 4 year old that occasionally like's to sleep with Mommy and Daddy still so we need more space!

Cuuute! Snuggle those babies as long as they want to be snuggled right? because they'll grow big before you know it! π It was one of my new year's resolutions to make my bed everyday but that lasted all of one week! haha and now we have some awesome (not!) looking bed rails all around the sides bc baby girl sleeps with me and it's just not looking pretty at all. Maybe I'll get my bed back in a few years π

So here's the thing. In theory I love white sheets. Okay I want them so so badly but sometimes? I fall asleep with some mascara still on. And I don't want to mess up the beautiful white! I think your color scheme rocks. And here's to making the bed! It's sort of my thing. The house doesn't feel quite ready until all four beds are made. Four! Sheesh.
