halloween ’15!!! a few notes…
maddalena made it really easy this year when it came to choosing costumes, hooraaaay! she decided long ago to don her sofia the first attire… which made rocco clover! sofia’s “blue ribbon bunny.” 🙂 and oh! they are the best and sweetest little pair. i could not love them more! madd was so excited about the evening she could hardly stand it! and rocco was a total champ on his first halloween, just snuggling and watching and napping on me in the carrier as we walked. he is a dreamboat, that boy! a reeeal dreamboat. <3
since costumes for steven and i have been probably the laaast things on our mind lately with our new house/old house situation going on, we threw on some very last minute costumes… i was a cat for probably the 400th time in my whole life [my go-to, my spirit animal], which worked out since sofia can talk to her animal friends! and then steven was an astronaut. haha. and hey, i love me some astronauts… so, maybe we weren’t “squad goals” on basis of theme consistency, but we were happy!
and OH MY GOSH, i have never seen the word “squad” so much in my life as i did when i checked instagram at the end of the night! but i will say, our squad was awesome. the rainy drizzle let up and we went around the block with our neighbor friends… and then had a little party in their garage after. we have had so much fun trick or treating all together these last few years and it’s even better now that maddalena’s old enough to get into it! although, she did not appreciate the creepy person handing out candy in head to toe red spandex [like, covering face and all] claiming to be dressed as santa. i didn’t much, either!
also, we were observing this year that it wasn’t so much a thing when we were little for parents to dress up and pour themselves a smidge of an adult bevvie for the halloween stroll… buuut it’s totally a thing now! so, is our generation completely awesome or just like, never really growing up? haha. tough call! i’m gonna go with a little of both. party on, fellow millennials! 😉 [but also, let’s be responsible adults and stuff, too.]
sooo! our night ended with a bit of a sofia meltdown [it’s hard being 3 and being tired and having a new baby and moving and getting ready for bed every night, so, i feel ya, girl, but whew!!] and the very cuuuutest little pumpkin tush on the planet!! rocco wearing the halloween jammies that maddo once wore had me all kinds of mushy, looking at old pics and such. i love my little fam. have i mentioned that? shock and surprise all around, i know!
hope everyone’s halloween weekend was a smashing success!! aaand now! onto more holidays we surely shall go! ps. it’s november with a high of 75 degrees today and i am having z-e-r-o complaints about that!

I think I got offered adult beverages at like 5 different houses while taking my guy trick or treating. And hey, I'm not complaining! Love your lil squad. 🙂 xoxo

We got offered Jell-O shots for the second year in a row in our neighborhood! Last year I was preggo with Joa but lucky for me they had booze free ones too last year so I could join in on the fun! This year I went for the legit piña coloda adult Jell-O shot and it was delish! We are still getting to know our neighbors but so far I like this tradition lol

Okay so what is this squad thing? I'm completely clueless. And I think that your choice of costumes was just too notch everyone else be darned. And adult beverages. That is the only way to trick or treat in my opinion. Been there. Done that. Year after year that I wasn't incubating. It makes it all so much more festive. It was in the 70's today and I'm quite confused by it all but hello Indian summer!!
