theeeese days… these kinds of days!! the ones with the golden, glowy afternoons that i dream about all the rest of the year long… the ones that don’t have you rushing around before evening fall because you know the sun will still be up for hours… oh, they are settling back in nicely around here, and iiii am just ecstatic over it!!
so, maddalena and i, we strolled around the farm a little bit on monday afternoon, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine and green, green grass. i loved watching her in her favorite dress, rediscovering pinecones, decorating the fence with them, and naturally, taking a few photos of her setup! 😉
and i know i say it constantly, and i know that i say i say it constantly… but this age that she’s at!! it’s incredible. she’s this layered little human that is developing in ways i am absolutely, ridiculously proud of. we have conversations, she shares her own thoughts, she wonders about life, and her imagination is blossoming more every day. she’s gentle and stubborn and empathetic and sassy! and still she’s so tiny and sweet and pure and innocent that all i want is to just keep her this age forever and ever so she’ll never have to deal with a mean friend or a pimple or a dumb boy or the weight of too much knowledge.
we’ll be having any simple, pleasant little moment together lately, and madd will turn and contentedly say, “i’m so happy.” and gosh, there is just nothing better!! and even though her boat is abouuuut to get rocked come summertime… i so hope we can keep up these wonderful moments together. and that she still feels all the happiness in her perfectly life-savoring, two-year-old soul. it’s the very sweetest thing!
[and okay, let’s be honest… i’m not sure that minnie ever quiiite recovered after the summer she was dethroned, so… i worry! haha. oh, you know i still love you, my fluffy fluffington!]
aaanyway… how ’bout a little coffee cup cheers to golden afternoons, the best little moments with the best little people, and the huge glass of wine i’ll be cheersing with come july! but not at 10:45 in the morning. well, probably not, anyway. 😉
yay!

These photos are just magic. I am dying over her little bum! And saying she's just so happy!!! Such a sweet girl. She knows you love hearing it too I'm sure. Has to be quite the boost to the mom self esteem!
