so hey!! it’s valentine’s weekend!!! i love this holiday. i love looove, i love piiiink, i love heaaaarts [my shape of choice, always!], and i especially love that it’s a low-key, low-pressure holiday to appreciate your beloveds in any ways that seem fit.
now, i also love a yummy treat. we all love a yummy treat around here, but we are off of the refined sugar train as much as we possibly can be right now [and for as long as possible, but hey, moderation is key!], and so we don’t really need to indulge in ridiculous candies made of who knows what. but stiiiilll…. where’s the fun in no yummy nibbles?!
not to worry, homeslices! a few valentine’s back i found a recipe to toy with for homemade healthy chocolates, and they actually turned out to be a pretty big hit around here! they’re so ridiculously simple that i couldn’t believe how much we all enjoyed them when we wanted that chocolatey disserty taste. there are a few variations of this recipe that i’ve seen, but here’s the easiest-ever little mix i stick to for simple chocolate candies…
the easiest and healthiest chocolates everrr
1/2 cup coconut oil [melted]
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup raw honey
1 tablespoon vanilla [okay, i tend to go overboard on vanilla, i may have used a little less in the past!]
a dash of salt
mix it up! pour into a mold! throw in the fridge or freezer! pop ’em out! and ta-daaaa!
happy healthy valentine’s weekend!!
