some things i have a total weakness for: 1. golden sunsets, 2. chocolate chip cookies, 3. my peeps and my fluffies, 4. love stories so good they make me want to barf, 5. t-swift and her anthems, 6. um… pizza, 7. really soft, slouchy t-shirts, 8. things that are gold metallic! 9. things that are pink! 10. red wine, obviously, 11. my horse 🙂
naturally, i try to keep a few of these sorts of things going strong at all times, you know? so as to avoid a nasty case of the grumps! lucky for me, our weekend started off with a good dose of 1 and 3 and 11. pretty good recipe, right there! so, hey, just follow that up with some 10 and some 6… and later, maybe nom on some 2, if you can snag some! and ta-daa! life is golden.

so, i know there’s really nothing too proper about my little ole habit of swinging straight onto casey’s bare back with just a halter and a lead rope [and hardly ever appropriate footwear on my part!], but it’s still kind of the very best thing in this big, beautiful world. for all these years he’s let me just hop right on in the pasture and take him around any which way i want, always understanding the goofy little signals i give him. and that’s pretty much the best feature of any relationship, right? someone who just gets you? exactly why every girl needs a horse to take care of her, if you ask meee! 😉
and it’s a good thing, too, that casey loves to be a mr. lazypants because that means i get to share him, bareback and all, with my tiniest horse girl, who is so ca-ra-zy in love these days. she gets all excited to show off her latest riding skills for her handsome daddy [i melt], and really, being out there is just plain ole good for all our souls. i realize so often these days just how much nature really is a sanctuary for me, and there’s just something about the golden sunlight draping itself over the earth, illuminating God’s beautiful creations that always feels to me like it’s about as close to heaven as i can get while i’m here. sharing that with my loves really never gets old!

There's nothing like riding bareback! I used to swing up on my Frosty growing up in my bikini to sunbath in the summer. I miss him!
