here’s a funny thing: when we were at the airport a few weeks ago, we were standing in the long security line when i casually but loudly said something to steven about “one of my blog friends.” then i laughed and looked around and in a quieter voice added that i maybe didn’t want to say “blog friends” too loud! because it sounds… kinda dorky. i mean, right? at least to people who don’t… have… blog friends.
truly, though, i could not be more thankful that such an area has grown in my life. the internet has come a seriously long way, and i think it’s hands down so amazing that we can now find community and support and perspective and all sorts of inspiration through such an accessible avenue! plus, it’s crazy weird to discover just how small the world really is. so small and so connected! i feel like i’m constantly like, “wait… how does that real life person know that blog person?” mind blown. like. always.
but anyway. one of the very best things to me these days is that slowly but surely i am getting to turn some of my long time blog friendships into real life friendships! so. much. fun. like the blacation we took last year? when i finally got to meet my sweet morgan, sarah, and chelsea and their babes! real life felt so natural with those girlies, and we had the best time.
since then, of course, i have been looking forward to meeting more of my bladies in person [blog ladies, yes?]. so! when precious denise let me know that she was going to be in nashville last weekend, i was absolutely thrilllllled that she scooted around her schedule to fit in a little brunch time with me and miss maddalena! she is just as warm and beautiful and kind and big-hearted in person, and i seriously could have chatted with her for days. plus, i was totally my dorky self in front of her and she didn’t run away! 😉
apparently maddalena was not thrilled that her blog baby friend, denise’s beautiful gigi, didn’t make it to the brunch! madd was… a little grumpy. i think brunch was maybe cramping her baby teenager style. 😉 but anyway, maddalena and gigi actually share a birthday, maddalena’s just one year older! so, next time, for sure. how cute would that little babe duo be?
denise! thank you so much for sharing a little brunch date with us!! i mean it when i say that you are beautiful inside and out and i am absolutely delighted to be real life friends. i am officially looking for any excuse to come visit wilmington and talk for hours over a few glasses of wine! love you, lady! xoxoxo

I find myself saying "blog friend" more often than I probably should…. But I've just a "met" so many fantastic ladies. I have yet to meet any in the actual world though. Lucky you! And surly teenager babies. Check and check. 😉

I say "blog friends" all the time, and also get super self-conscious in case someone overhears, haha!
