[hey, natchez trace bridge that i drove under four times yesterday and twice last week going to and from the vet]
you know, for yeeears now, it seems that i have this crazy spring-but-not-spring time of year arrive oh so charmingly at my doorstep, but without fail, i never quite make it from winter to summer without a whole buildup of anxiety finally giving way to the same little visual playing over and over in my head of just throwing up my hands in surrender and running away to a blaaazing hot, tropical little island where i turn into a beach bum and my phone gets hardly any service and the whole world just goes all quiet for a bit. of course, it was a little simpler of a fantasy in high school when i really would’ve probably been okay with no one finding me for a while, and my biggest issues were research papers and boy [mmhm, singular.], but now, being the thorough sort, i also have to work out the logistics within my visual of escaping with my baby princess, because duh, kangaroo pouch. then i think about the fluffies, etc, and then i hear reality start laughing this evil little laugh in one of my ears because escape to an island! hahaaaa, funny!
but! i did a good amount of stress cleaning yesterday, popped a few hundred rescue remedy gums, topped it all off with vino [after steven got home, naturally, not by myself], and once again i am ever so glad that mommies don’t have much time to dwell on silly things, anyway! so seeee ya later, gray skies! i shall now list some of the better lately things from ’round here…
-we just made a timely booking of ticks to riiide our way outta this hole for a little family vacay, hey hey!! the first one just the three of us for a bit, woohoo! the very next best thing [or better, really] to my fictional mind island and i am ready freddy.
-i finally had my parents chop the bottom of my jungle woman hair off! yay! because it was becoming scary long, and that thing called go to the hairdresser and get it done was just so not happening. aaas it turns out, my hair grows really fast. i’m always wondering what my super power is, maybe that’s it? anyway, enter salon scioscia, as those crazy kids call it when they cut hairs. i love them. and wow! i love not having 9lbs of hair in my pony!
-my sophie kitty had some bladder stones surgically removed yesterday, so the pain she’s been in for months should be all fixed up soon! i didn’t know she was such a wreck before, but i am glad i know how to properly care for my little kit’s needs now. although, she’s stuck with one of those dang e-collars around her head, and i think that’s making her more miserable than anything.
-maddalena thinks this one episode of curious george that we watch where jumpy squirrel is on george’s head while they’re flying in the sky with a kite is theee most hilarious thing ever, and she literally el-oh-els every time. it makes me so happy. her laugh! oh my gosh.
-she grabbed my chin last week with both her tiny, gentle hands and told me straight into my face that i was a good girl. i melted on the spot, and maybe i am just needing this kind of reassurance lately, because somehow it feels pretty darn good to hear it from a 19 month old! even though she tells everyone they’re either a good girl or a “boy good.”
-over the weekend we got to help surprise and celebrate my best girlfriend from age 11 on and her new engagement to one of our other high school friends!! it is so fun to picture the four of us hanging out in high school… and then flash forward to us now. 🙂 anyway, i finally got to see her beautiful ring on her finger [i got to go with him to “help” pick it out, but really i was just honored to get to go see and keep secrets!!], and give them our official congratulations. and i get to be a matron of honor and maddalena gets to be a flower girl! i meeean. i can’t even deal. i am just thrilled!
-i am finally going through my closet and, well, whole house again and i am so ready to purge this place! i say that, but i am a purge-a-holic even when i kind of run out of items to send off, so we’ll just see what i can do. i’d be pretty happy with a nearly empty house at this point.

oh does this mean you will be restocking your instagram sale account?!? 🙂 PS Dear baby is the cutest blog and she does an adorable cooking show with her daughter. A little cooking class might chase away the winter blues.http://dearbabyblog.com/tagged/Everly%27s-cooking-show

I am envious of your fast growing hair.
The transition from winter to spring is so weird. Summer is coming though. It's definitely out there….
