well, maybe we thought spring was on its way last week, but nooope, no sign of spring here! in fact, we spent our whole silly weekend battening down for a good ole late-season ice storm. naturally, this entailed…
…shopping for provisions with the coolest and tiniest cart ridin’ baby chick [and one stud of a husband]…
…taking my one woman show out to wrangle some blankets onto a couple of stubborn old boys… one of them feeling particularly stubborn, that mr. comet, as he ran, kicked aaand tooted at me, because heaven forbid i shield him from foul weather! but how cute is his tushy? so darn cute.
…aaaand ha, got ’em! you know, i bet they really liked being all warm when it was so nasty out. you’re welcome, gentlemen. you’re welcome. and would you just look at those handsome princes in their snuggly blankies!
…we decided to cozy up at the farm for the night, and husband charming made his family stew recipe… mmmboy was it delish! although, as we shopped for ingredients earlier in the day, we did have to go over things like “so, will you not eat it if i put lima beans in it?” please, babe. i’m a big girl. i’ll pick around the lima beans.
…i gave myself a quick mani aaand pedi! we watched the oscars. we drank wine. and we obviously looked so very red carpet ready, ourselves.
…then, the power went out overnight from all the ice ice baby… and okay, it had me a little freaked out! because first of all, we were trying to sleep, and then it was suddenly just silent. like, i-hear-your-tummy-gurgling silence all over the lands… then i heard a distant siren and just pictured the power being off for hours upon hours and us all huddled in a ball together, shivering dramatically with all our iphones losing charge and not having any hot water for coffee so, oh no, i guess we’ll have to just drink wine to keep warm… but! apparently it didn’t freak me out as much as it freaked penny, because that dog entered our upstairs girls’ bathroom around 2am and that is where we found her come 8am! she hides in bathrooms when she’s scared, it’s kinda her thing.
…but the power didn’t stay out for long at all! we had our coffee, and i taught maddo to cheers. yaaay. steven insisted upon 4 wheel driving his way to work, despite the warnings on twitter and the very serious “danger!” look i shot at him a few times with my eyeballs. but i guess the roads were manageable enough because some of our besties came to viz us, and then we sang disney princess songs, and then, yippy…
…back out in the elements! it was colder than i expected it to be, actually, and now… i am officially… ready to say ta-taaa to the winter times!! fun weekend, though, thanks to a farm full of my fun peeps! and don’t worry, our parents have been safely baking down in the sunshine of the tropics for over two weeks now so, they survived the weekend pretty well, i think.
and so! that was our ice story, the end!

Heck to the yeah re: picking around the lima beans. Blegh. But I'm a big girl too – I'd pick around them.
And the pic of the coolest cart ridin' chick in the land is too cute. She does look toooo coooool for schoooool.

haha! i have neverrrr like lima beans! fortunately, the stew kind of camouflaged them, so i'll admit, i ate a couple 😉

so question. does the top coat of polish work really well? is it the gel polish coat?
LifeofCharmings says
yes! it's vinylux top coat… i recently got it and i love it! i don't think it's gel, but it gives a really professional look and definitely helps it last!
