obviously, the bulk of our afternoons lately have been spent outside with the horses, feeding casey and soaking up sunshine. minnie and maddalena romp around happily! i remain a walking advertisement for wellies… and while i have a shiny new respect for people that board their horses across town from where they live but still manage to spend time with them every. single. day. [man, i had it made back in the farmlivin’ days], there’s still just pretty much nothing i’d rather do with my afternoon than visit with my casey boy! keeps us out of trouble, right? 😉 😉
anyway, lately, when the sun is warm and shining, i just can’t help but sit myself down in the grass, watching three of my favorites of all God’s creatures from three different places in my life interacting together in the cutest of ways… and thank my lucky stars that i have each of them. they love me unconditionally, whether i’m donning mascara and concealer or unknown amounts of hay in my hair. they make me the best version of myself, i think, and after spending too many years trying way too hard at every silly thing because i really actually care what other people think [and admitting that is not part of it normally!]… gosh, it’s nice to have a few reasons to let that go!
i am pretty sure that babes and animals make for some of the best company… and i love love love to see maddalena learning from casey, telling him he’s a good boy [“bah-dooohd!” she says it backwards!], and trying to help me out so much with all casey’s giant horsey things. i guess it’s no surprise that she has started clucking at me and pulling me by my pants to lead me where she wants me to go… ha!
but also, it’s even better when regular sized humans join us for a good field party… especially when they will humor my ridiculous group horse selfies… thanks bean 😉 what are sisters for!
looove,
