2. essie nail polishes in fun in the gondola & mink muffs – gosh, i have been in love with these colors for the chilly months! fun in the gondola is just muted enough to be cozy, but pinky enough to still be fun… mink muffs is just dark enough to be winter moody, but has enough brown tones in it to not make you look deathly! and suddenly, i’ve majored in nail color choices, i know! *this is also a note to my future self, as maddalena keeps picking the name labels off my polishes.
3. capezio leggings – every winter, it becomes pretty inevitable that i spend a lot of time in my black leggings. because does it get any comfier without feeling sweatpantsy? also, i so love black. but anyway, at one point i had a truly embarrassing amount of leggings in my dresser, so i weeded through and got rid of a whole whole bunch. there are just too many not-great leggings out there, and not enough great great. my latest favs, though, have been the capezio ankle leggings. they are a really good thickness, and even though they’re low rise [i’m long-waisted so i prefer a little higher of a waistband], they don’t cut in a whole bunch. they’re a cotton-blend, so they have faded just a tiny bit after a year of wear and tear, but i could’ve been nicer to them in my laundering, honestly. [they make a supplex-blend with a higher waist, too, but i try to go with more natural fibers when i can.] i also like my danskin leggings with a slightly higher waistband. they aren’t quite as thick, but they’re not too thin, either! ps. i sized up in both, but maybe didn’t need to so much in the danskin. pps. i totally still wear my old navy maternity leggings. no shame in it.
4. cloth & stone shirts – i. love. these shirts. they are the softest and comfiest things and i am obsessed and i have three. i love the tencel fiber the chambray ones are made from, but i also have a soft black one that’s made of… something else. but here’s the thing: do you think i would pay almost $90 for basic shirts? pahahaha. i mean, i’m not a total cheapo, but i do try to be reasonable! i’ve actually been able to find these at tj maxx for less than half the price, woo! so you better believe i keep my eyes peeled every time i’m there. but seriously, if you have an extra $90, just do it!
5. mulling spices – red wine + mulling spices, heat it up in a pot, have the coziest smelling house and a warm, wintery beverage! snuggle! blankies! not that a glass of red wine could ever get boring, but i love doing this when i feel like going cold weather mug style.
6. burt’s bees ultra conditioning lip balm – this lip balm isn’t tingly like some burt’s bees. it’s silky and turns the chappediest of lips to cashmere, basically! gets our household vote. including maddalena’s, and she’s the lip balm/gloss pro lately.
7. j.r. watkins lavender lotion – this has been one of my favorite lotions for a few years. it’s 99% natural and all that important stuff. not to mention, it’s wonderful smelling, and now i love using it on maddalena’s sweet baby skin! [okay, she’s the lip gloss and lotion pro around here lately!] anyway, i want to buy everything j.r. watkins makes. plus, that gorgeous apothecary packaging gets me oh so good!

I've hated some Burt's Bees lip balms but I picked up that Ultra Conditioning one on a whim & love it.
