if there was ever a day for snuggling under blankies, today was most certainly that day around here! because when i checked the weather today [via iphone, not by going out of doors!], it said…11. 11 degrees! with a wind chill of -4. and that’s when the sun was out! boy, have we been glad for heaters today. heaters and blankies and cups of hot coffee!
historically, i’ve kind of always thought that january was pretty much the most boring a month could really get… but now!! now i am in slow, snuggly heaven with january. as much as i LOVE the holidays, i now find myself waking up going “i’m freeeeee!” because honestly, i require some serious recovery time after all the holiday scramblings. i do. so! this weekend i’ve been delighting in my coffee sipping [and my wine sipping], and my snow flurrying and my sleeping in with the youngen. [she actually slept til almost 11 on saturday, and after being up with her coughing and sniffling so many nights in the last two months, sleeping in like a teenager!? iiii’ll take it!! also, we’re entering the 18 month tantrum phase and that’ll sure do a number on you, let me just say!] sooo, yes! i am one happy camper in my leggings and wool socks. i even went for that extra bit of comfy last night and wore my maternity leggings. haha. it’s the little things!
aaand now we are off to go a-visiting with friends at the gathering that the football fan of the family [steven] pulled together to cheer for the auburn championshipping. we’re venturing out for the first time today, and dare i even change out of my uggs? is it even worth it? wellllll, either way… you’ll find me by the cookies!

I don't know how you did it. 11 am!? You have a gift. Truly. Up at 5:30 this morning with my little 18 month old. Has Maddo started the "sqwuack" yet? I don't have the right word. But the noise when no words come to them when they are angry? She's probably too sweet for it. But it's a fun train. By the way I am notoriously sarcastic.

Here in NE, it was just -12, (-40 with the wind chill) and boy its freezing! I stayed under my blanket all day! Stay warm dear 😀 x
