during our little visit to lexington last week, my mom, sister, little lady babe and i made sure to go and see all the pretty lights and merry festivities out at the kentucky horse park!oh, the horse park, it’s such a special place to me. my grandfather’s precast company built many of the buildings out there back in the day, and i have definitely had some moments of my own out there, too… riding my casey, visiting during the rolex three-day event, and just going to see all the prettiness. it’s absolutely beautiful out there, and it’s especially fantastic during the holidays when they host their southern lights festival full of lights and animals and so much merriment!
so, anyway! as we drove through gazing at all the snazzy lights that night, you know i made sure to capture some of my favsies…
[racehorses at keeneland, so so good!]
[6 geese a-laying, 8 maids a-milking, 12 drummers drumming!]
[the jumping horse is my VERY fav! i remembered it from when i was younger & was so happy to see it again.]
[even a lochness monster in the water!]
…aaaand then it was time to park, warm up in the gift shop [naturally!],
and then mingle with some fuzzy animals…
[gosh, i love my three beauties so much!]
[the kangaroos! obsessed!! i mean, i can’t believe australia has so many.]
[a little christmas train sighting for the tiniest train lover!]
[his name was george!]
[a reindeer! he was pacing anxiously, the poor thing. probably just thinking about his upcoming trip.]…and then, freezing cold, i finally uttered the words i just couldn’t hold in any longer,
iiiiii want to ride a camel!
…so, maddalena joined me for her first ever camel ride! but we didn’t ride george, we rode nacho. and it was great. the whole evening was great, really! and probably my favorite part of this year’s holiday season. it was just what i needed to put me right in the spirit, and i was extra excited for some quality time with both my cutest mom ever and very best sister, christina! i feel like that kind of thing never happens, and i am oh so grateful for the fabulous women that i get to claim as miiine mine mine! they make me so happy, my fine scioscia ladies.
well, the merriest and cheeriest christmas week to each and every one!
[and be good, you guys, because no one wants a last minute switch to the naughty list!!]
