so, we had big plans for our weekend. big plans to celebrate fun things with fun people, new houses and little birthdays! but by golly if my smallest bunny didn’t come down with a fever that pretty much had her down for the count. i mean, she has never really been sick before, so i feel super lucky that we’ve made it this far in great health! but it’s hard to see those beautiful little eyes without their usual sparkle, and it’s even harder when you then get… oooh… maybe 2 hours of sleep.
but we did manage to still have fun!
liiiike, saturday morning, when we made an impromptu breakfast run to waffle house! because we were out of eggs at our house. uh ohhh. so, i said “let’s go to WAFFLE HOUSE!!” because who doesn’t love waffle house? i had somehow not been in years, which is faaar too long, as i consider the wa-ho to have been a staple part of my teen years [see also: sonic drive-in and starbucks]. oh. my. gosh. it was amazing. like, i was thrilled. [i am really so darn easy to please sometimes, it’s almost embarrassing. that’s right, just take the girl to waffle house! which actually, steven did do the time he kidnapped me in my pjs at 6am for my 18th birthday, but that’s another story. or have i told that one? i don’t even know.]
[m was feeling better that morning, but still had such tired eyes, bless her princess heart!]
so anyway, maddalena, meet waffle house. aka your teenhood future. just trust me on this one.
also, the weather this weekend?! shockingly fall-like here in nashville! beautifully sunny, but with a chill in the air that really enhanced the flavor of my pumpkin spice latte, i have to say! oh yes, my coffee treat that stevo picked up for me sunday morning after my maybe two hours of sleep…
but, hey! it’s a new week! and i am feeling very tempted to peek in at our target and see what is left of all the 3.1 phillip lim goodies, which i have been kind of dying over…

oh i am laughing so hard at this. we think alike 🙂 there's a little place similar to waffle house by our house and when we realize there's no eggs left we go there. they all know scarlett and they know our order by heart- haha.
and i am tempted to check out the phillip lim goodies, too. why must IG be so tempting. i didn't even know about it till i saw them on there. ughh
and hey, i am pretty sure i am coming to nash this weekend!!!

I did not locate a waffle house in Dallas until years into my life here….They are not on every block/ highway exit like they are in the southeast…reminds me of my youth…I'll take an All-Star Special please 🙂

What I'm about to say might come as a bit of a shock… I have never been to a Waffle House. We don't have any up here. Whenever I'm in Florida visiting family, though, I'm shocked by how many of the yellow signs I see way up high. Is it just me or do they have like the highest signs ever?
Hope M. is all better 🙂

Good ol' homestyle food! Gotta love it. It's sad that your weekend plans were affected, but hey, at least there were waffles. Hope the little cutie is feeling 100% better now!

I LOVE Waffle House and I am not ashamed! I haven't been in like a year and I've been telling my hubs we have to change that! And I wanna hear more about this 18th Birthday! Sounds like the sweetest!
