drink lots of coffee. aaaaall kinds of it!
remember that everything is a season. whether it’s a period of life you want to savor or one you’re trying to get through in one piece, it ultimately will end. enjoy the ride and try not to worry.
there is no instruction book written about your baby. you just have to trust your own instincts and take advice from others with a grain of salt. [aka. nod and smile!]
it is so wonderful to get to savor life through fresh little eyes every day. i love having someone to enjoy the tiniest things with. i am happy to get excited every time we hear the choochoo train, happy to sniff every flower! we tend to get a little ruined by the world once we’re older, isn’t that silly?
how to get things done? oh, just let a few little messes happen. safely. we hope.
let them grow and explore and learn and be little. watching this take place is such a gift! even if it means a little dirt gets digested or bath time must immediately follow, that’s okay! i have always been a kinesthetic learner. i learn best by doing, by being hands-on. seeing how incredibly tactile maddalena has been since she was born makes me so thrilled for her to get her little hands into everything!! and crafts, oh, i can’t wait for crafts.
cut yourself some slack! [you never will.] it’s hard to bear the kind of pressure that we put on ourselves as daughters, sisters, wives, friends and then add motherhood! my goodness. there really aren’t enough hours in the day, and you can’t keep everyone happy all the time, and your house won’t look like it’s a museum, and your baby will love you even if you don’t shave your legs for a week. heck, your husband probably will, too! ha!
rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. [1 thessalonians 5:16-18]
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. [1 thessalonians 5:16-18]
and you know me… every mama deserves her glass of wine!

Oh I love this and it kindof made me teary eyed! Ok, I have to admit sometimes when I have lost my patience with W, "I think what would Brittany do?" and I am reminded what a gift every.second.is. The way you love Princess M is such a joy to watch. You truly rejoice in all things. Lots of love, Chels

What a lovely post! π Your words are encouraging as I struggle through some ultimate breastfeeding difficulties and as I "come up for air" after having my little Henry. Thanks!

Reading this post made me excited to be a mother…one day. But only if I can have a glass of wine most nights after the little one goes to bed π – Court | lovecourtxoxo.com
