well well welllll. ole independence day!
our 4th of july this year was quiiite a rainy one! we were away at steven’s parents’ beach house, where the tiny and cute tourist town would normally host a whole bunch of festivities… but, unfortunately! there was not a sparkler to be seen for us this year. we did, however, grab lunch from a cute market, wear our red, white & blue, and do a bunch of snuggling before heading out for dinner!
also, the homemade ice cream and sparkler words from last year were alive in my patriotic heart, and i may have recited the pledge of allegiance a few times in my head. i love the pledge, is that so american-nerdy of me? it’s true, though. i do. [one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all! yaaaaaay america!]
and, ps. check out the little queen of independence, herself, up there. we are already entering the “i can do it myself” stage of life… and if she’s anything like her mother, it’s not one that’s likely to end… ever 😉

ours was a rainy one too, so sad! wish there were sparklers and sunny weather, but oh well. Sounds like we both made the most of it! sweet girl, she is too cute! that age must be so fun!
