i’ve always dreaded the month of january. it’s pretty much the most dull month of the year, right? well. it is here in nash, tennessee, america. but this year, honestly, i’m experiencing what i’m pretty sure is my favorite january to date.
despite all the failed nap time experiments we have around here and the sometimes barely making it out of pajamas [but who honestly complains about that?], the gray days, my lack of tan [real OR spray], and the inability for nashville to ever just have normal snow, [but sleet and icy rain lovers, come on down!] spending my time with my little snuggle flower is making my month of january is the brightest it’s ever been.
i know a lot of people think this whole mom job is mostly just frustrating and unglamorous. sure, it is sometimes… sometimes a lot of times. and some women can’t wait to get back into their professional garb and dominate the business world [and if that’s your calling, then get it, sister!], but me, i’m in the right place here with a baby on my hip. i’ve never liked office atmospheres and my brain doesn’t turn on much before 11am. also, i don’t follow other people’s rules very well. so, snuggling over coffee? i think i have it made.
hey, stay as long as you want, january! no wait. don’t. that was going too far.
*seriously, though, call me back when we have more than one child, and i probably won’t even know what month it is π

A January spent entirely in jammies sounds amazingly dreamy!
Erin says
*sigh* i know the feeling. i used to be the corporate take-over-the-world type, but would now MUCH rather be home snuggled with my little peanut. π
Ana says
Oh that sounds like a real fun January, if you ask me. I have an office in my house, so I guess that's some sort of compromise? Although, even working from home, I don't think I'll be able to do it when I have a baby.
Anyway, enjoy your January snuggles!
Marie says
enjoy your mummy time with your baby! she'll be all grown up before you know it. π
Nessa @{Casa Braaflat} says
i know what you mean about januarys. mostly terrible. but i can't go snow sledding with my boys in june so a january is worth it.
Anna says
this is the sweetest. can't wait to have at home snuggles with my babes some day!
Norah says
Aww π January seems like a great month for snuggling up with your baby and some coffee. And I am totally with you on the non-functioning until 11am!
Krystal says
i'm not having a bad january either π what kind of naptime experiments??
