i’ll be honest, i kind of thought today was february, but i just checked my phone and… it’s not. so hey! bonus day! i can’t really decide if january has gone really quickly or really slowly, because it kinda feels like both, and ready or not, life just keeps on going and it makes my brain spin when i really think about it.
and lately… well, this last week has pretty much looked like…
…steven traveling over the weekend and then again monday and his girls missing him a bunch
…a lot of teething and growing for maddalena which is making her a bit fussalicious, and the only naps she will take are mama/baby snuggle naps, which are fine by me! the girl hates naps enough as it is, which is proof that she is my child. so, if we go at it together, well, we both get rest and snuggles and it’s a win/win.
…we’ve also had a few unintentional carseat naps which have lead me through the starbucks drive through a handful of times now. no complaints there. i can recommend the new vanilla spice latte, the calm tea, the lemon loaf cake, the walnut pumpkin bread, and the sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich!
…trying to cleanse our diets in this new year, and my body already feels better. i’m really just trying to make sure i cut way back on refined sugar, because i don’t normally crave sugar, but once i start having those cravings, that’s when i know it’s seriously time to stop making delicious batches of cookie dough. waa. [the starbucks drive through does not help.]
…hiding in the bathroom with my husband and sleeping baby slung over my shoulder during 3am tornado warnings in the wee hours of yesterday morning. the wind outside was terrifying sounding, and ew, it just makes me so jittery and nervous when that stuff starts up. i mean, we get ca-razy weather sometimes!
…and possibly the most dramatic event of all… water stopped coming out of our refrigerator’s water hole for a day, and i had to drink TAP. call me a water snob, but no don’t, because straight tap is just gross tasting for some reason, okay. fortunately my handy mister came home and fixed it! good boy.
…and also, as much as i knew for sure that i could never like the show parks and rec, we officially watch it and love it now, and we have maybe re-watched this clip more than a few times.
…and. my pre-ordered bieber acoustic album downloaded. that’s right. you heard me. still love me some biebs. and apparently i pre-ordered his album and then conveniently forgot about it!
so, there we are! surviving storms and eating quinoa like champions.
happy almost february!

Hi there,
I'm not sure how I came across your blog, but somehow I've found myself here. 🙂
Weather like that scares me too. 🙁 No fun. Also, I am a water snob too. I am seriously too picky about it, but I can't help it. Being pregnant too doesn't help.
Anyways, your little girl is precious. 🙂 I'm due in May with my first little one. So exciting.

I was the same way with parks n rec! it grew on me eventually. have y'all seen the bachelor/bachelorette party episode? so good!
p.s. those shoes are precious!

hmm I'm still not convinced about parks and rec. I mean, it looks like the same type of format as the office, but nothing beats the office in my eyes. I might be like you though and need it to grow on me. who knows. in other new, HAPPY almost february, yayyy!!!

Yikes! The hiding out in the bathroom part sounds stressful! And I'm with you on tap – blech. Brita is okay if we have to use tap.
