i realized lately that i’ve become so ready to get things feeling normal and settled and a little more routine, that i forget that it’s only been three weeks. but it’s only. been. three. weeks. so, it’s okay that pretty much all i want to do when i wake up in the morning is snuggle all day with my baby! she wants to snuggle, too. this is the time for that kind of bonding and i’m really enjoying it.
also, the other night, while we were eating dinner, baby m happened to be napping all angelically in her own crib and we just were watching her on the baby monitor like it was the baby m reality show… but then she started to fuss, and while we watched a second longer to see if she was really awake and ready to be held, we saw a kitty head pop up and peep over the side of the crib… and a little sophie-cat hopped right into the crib to check on her. it was cute and that’s pretty much how both of the fluffies have been… concerned and protective and it’s funny to watch.
and i’ll just add that my baby doctor left me a voicemail yesterday evening and i cried when i heard her voice. i love her so much. probably kind of a weird amount. i’m seriously attached to that woman. and i’m still sad that she wasn’t at maddalena’s birth [she had conveniently gone on vacation just one day before]. but she swears she’ll be there for the next baby, whenever that is, so she’s clearly committed to our relationship and i like that.
so, yaaay, three weeks! and going strong! and thank you to everyone for leaving the sweetest notes about birth and baby girl and our new family of three! and by three, i obviously mean five. can’t forget those fluffies. anyway, our hearts are so warm over here from all the love. thank you!

get as much snuggling in as you can… they grow up way too fast! and soon she'll only let you snuggle when she's sick hurt or being bribed, actually probably not, i see this one as a mommys girl who will be wedging her way into your bed every night 🙂

I love reading every word you write, and just try and experience the entire bit of feelings you are having right now. Thank you for sharing all of these amazing things with us. She is such such a sweet little doll, and I'm excited to watch as she grows. I agree with you also, I like to have routine and try to get it going when things are a bit different for a while!

Oh my, I think you have found the next new reality obsession: baby monitor tv. Especially when curious cats decide that they want to investigate the new little human in their house. Too precious!
