on our third day in rome, we walked not too far from our hotel to check out the colosseum and palatine hill, which was all just so incredible to see! more than i expected, even. i could just picture all those ancient romans stompin’ around…
then we rested up just a bit, indulged in a couple of afternoon cappuccinos [i still don’t know why they wrote “ok” in mine, but i liked it!], took a little stroll in the sunshine, stopped in a few cute shops and ate some delicious gelato… it was probably one of my favorite afternoons. and later that night at dinner, steven ordered cow’s tail, which we both tried for the first time… and you know what? it was pretty good! [that one was a fun recommendation on our rome to-do list from rachel!]
on our last day in rome, we took the bus to beautiful vatican city to visit st. peter’s basilica and the vatican museum… [where the sistine chapel is! the capella sistina! i was really excited to see it. pretty amazing, that michelangelo. obviously, i snuck a photo.]
every detail there was so beyond beautiful! the amount of history and intricacy [and gold!] on every single thing is just amazing to take in. then, that night, we had a very lovely last dinner. i ordered my obsession meal of spinach stuffed ravioli in truffle sauce, mmm baby! [and my doctor gave me the go ahead for a *little* vino in italy, and ooh heavens, it was good.]
…and, of course, on the walk back, did a lucky coin toss into the trevi fountain!
arrivederci, roma! we will surely be back one day!

So neat! I've seen all those places in movies and learned about them in school (never really listening) but to see them in person is a dream come true, I'm sure! Love it!
