when i say that 2011 has been one of the very best years for us.
[i may have predicted early on that it would be!]
here is a little of what we did in 2011:
february brought many things to be thankful for, our 8th valentine’s day together, a 24th birthday for my horseylove casey, and some surprisingly beautiful weather.
march brought the start of porch season, a little family dinner to finally celebrate my graduation, happy weekends, another heartbreaking goodbye to my family’s second childhood pup, chloe, soon followed by a hard goodbye for steven and his childhood pup, scotch. [we had some sad times with our family pets!], the best spring break getaway to my family’s beach home with april, and my first ever viewing of a brand new foal in her first hour of life.
april brought more cute baby horse photos, sunshiney pool weather [hallelujah!], steven’s first ever trip to pittsburgh to visit my big ole family, an evening at music city roots to see april’s fiddlin’ dad play, and a delightful little easter.
may brought our official 1 year floodiversary, a milkshake date, a bachelorette trip to memphis to celebrate krista… featuring dinner at the beauty shop, a trip with the in-laws to philadelphia to see steven’s sister graduate, a fun lake visit turned music video, and a high school graduation for my babysis.
july brought a fun 4th weekend and a lake party on 3 houseboats, a 14th anniversary for me and my one and only horsey love, a summertime obsession list, a polo match featuring our favorite farmhome barn guests, evening wine on the porch with my mom… via ipad, a barefoot walk to the neighbors’ house, a 50th birthday party for my dad at farmhome, and bright pink tips in the bottom of my hair!
august brought a little butterfly visitor, national chocolate chip cookie day, a little horsemergency, weekend adventures that included a moonbounce, and the most fun ever beach trip with lots of our best friends.
september brought a clumsy ballerina dance and a dinner date for two, the opportune time for a secret back yard castle, plenty of fluffy play time, a going away party for and with sweet friends, much indulging of my inner teenager [ahem… taylor swift and the biebs], a trip to lexington to visit my grandmother, and the arrival of fall.
october brought us 24 hours with friends at river ranch, laughter and collegey thursdays, steven’s 26th birthday, a free crappy portrait, more downtown adventures in my cowboy boots, our very first back porch grilling since the flood, festive pumpkin carving, the best ever lunch date, and a halloween outting dressed as cleopatra and julius caesar.
november brought the official opening of my little art shop, bee for beauty! happy fall weekends and a fall gathering of friends at our house, some fabulous farmhome farmsitting, another casey snugfest, a teensy showing of my art, a college playdate with my sis, a happy thanksgiving, a tree trimming tradition, and my 25th birthday.
december brought my first week of being 25, a half anniversary, a letter to santa, the perfect morning to stay in bed and eat donuts, a weekend of christmas parties [and we found out that poor minnie needs knee surgery!], a christmas date to opryland, a very merry christmas, and a relaxing little beach trip.
yaaaay, what a good year it’s been.
thanks a lot, 2011!
