i’m in love, i’m in love, and i don’t care who knows it!

our 3rd anniversary was so wonderful.
and thank you to everyone who wished us a happy one!
it was happy, it really was.

of course, it started out like any normal anniversary day would…
heading to the farmhome pool, digging up my veil and dried bouquets,
and properly remembering my day of brideyness.

mary was indeed a bridesmaid in our wedding,
and like a good bridesmaid, she brought the anniversary champagne.

and like a good groom, steven made certain i’d be farmpooling that day and
had the most beautiful flowers sent over. 3 pink roses for 3 great years, he said.
pink roses are my favorite. and so is steven! he is the best… the best, i tell you.

then, for dinner… we cooked. meatballs!
we’ve gone out to dinner for our past anniversaries but this year
we thought we’d change it up and just pull out the ole family meatball recipe.
such a classic. it never disappoints. i need more of my grandmother’s recipes.
[grandmom, do you have one for italian wedding soup?]

we cheersed our wine at dinner [cheersing, you know, it’s my favorite]
and talked about life. and how much we like it.

and for dessert… delicious chess pie. but i was smart and only bought half a pie.
we really don’t need a whole pie in our refrigerator. i’d eat it all.
[i’ve already had more today… for breakfast… at lunch time. gross!]

so our 3rd anniversary was casual and comfortable and perfect
and that’s just kind of how our life has been lately. so good.
happy 3rd birthday, wedding. and thank you, husband,
for being the best ever ever. i love you x’s infinity!
i really couldn’t ask for more.

[ps, ps. if you didn’t notice, the title is a quote from elf. that line pops into my head probably twice a week. it’s a fav.]

    You're too funny about the pots!
    I have to tell you, I wasn't looking foward to having everything stick, but I made eggs and pancakes and they turned out just fine! They didn't stick at all!
