thank goodness this weekend in nashville was so very pretty and sunny! i for sure needed the little blast of happiness, since last week was blah and not so good. [my fam’s 14 year old little pup, katy, died last wednesday… and thank you so much to everyone who gave sweet words and encouragement! it helped!] i thought it was just lovely of the sunshine to decide to pop out at the end of what’s been a very gray and chilly january. yay! we ended up having a pretty nice little low-key weekend. low-key was perfect.
over the weekend weeee:
- had dinner at bosco’s with friendsies, followed up with sweet cece’s froyo
- enjoyed our morning coffee on the back porch in the perfect 60-degree weather
- let both fluffies play outside! sophie’s an indoor kitty, but we let her join us for sunshine time inside our big tall fence. walking on the grass pretty much blew her mind.
- visited with steven’s parents + drank yum lattes a la steven’s dad’s fancy coffee machine
- ate a delish dinner made by husband and brother with the fam at farmhome
- shared sweet memories and stories and pictures of our little katyboo!
- played the dance central game on brother’s xbox. seriously! my body is sore. but such fun.
- finally took down our christmas tree [mr. tree is a fakey. i like him to stay a while!] now our house looks weirdly empty.
- gave in and bought showtime channels so we can finally catch up on season 5 of dexter on-demand. watched 3 eps. very intense.
- indulged in a quick sunday evening yummy mexican food date
- aaaand i’ve officially made it through 91% of my 7th jamie & claire book… #7 in the outlander series. [the kindle tells you the percentage you’ve read, which i think is funny.] i’m really nerv about finishing because the 8th book isn’t out just yet. i don’t know if i’m ready! i don’t want to be without them, waaa.
- oh and i didn’t get on my computer for 2 whole days! amazing. i can actually do that now that i’m done with school.
so there. we played and relaxed and indulged and i think it’s good to do that sometimes when you really need it. super! and happy last day of january! [oh, except katie just got back from india and says it’s already feb there. lucky them, i’m kind of over january. and mr. sunshine, will you come back please sir?]
