as i might have mentioned before, 2010 has been kind of a crazy year for us!
here’s a little peek back at our last 12 months:
january: we welcomed 2010 with friends, had fun snowdays, casey got his first equine massage, minnie turned two, and i held a tarantula in pittsburgh
february: i found time to do some painting, developed a popcorn stealing problem,
we made our own creme brulee on valentines day, learned a lesson in communication and avatar faces, saw harry connick, jr. in concert, baked banana bread at midnight,
and developed my first roll of holgies
march: we played with our friends here in nashville, i took a relaxing trip to the beach with my fam, got my sis hooked on my favorite book series, and enjoyed the spring weather
april: we visited san antonio thinking we were gonna have to move there [i’ll admit now that i cried the whole time], i enjoyed a trip to arrington vineyards with friends,
obsessed over my pretty flowers, and had my first try at mowing the lawn
may: we watched the harpeth river overtake our poor housey and belongings, did lots and lots and lots of cleanup, laid our poor vehicles to rest, moved to farmhome for the summer, i got my very first little blossom on my african violet, and wrote up a little guide on notable husband qualities [inspired by my mr. prince charming]
june: we had a little cookout for memorial weekend, celebrated our third anniversary, i took a second trip to arrington vineyards, found some crazy google earth photos of our neighborhood before & after the flood, and enjoyed farmhome family dinners and trips to sweet cece’s
july: we finally had walls go up in our housey, celebrated my parents 25th anniversary,
cuddled with the professionals, had little date nights over mexican food,
and celebrated a farmhome birthday with a 60s theme
august: minnie got to see her housey for the first time in months, we took a summer vacay to the in-laws’ beach house, had an interesting visit to the wilson county fair, enjoyed a picnic date night when our housey got new floors, and saw a real life double rainbow
september: i made a little listy of favorite things, we cheered for auburn football, i spent some time with my pretty boy casey, labored and relaxed on labor day weekend, visited the downtown antique mall, and moved back into our de-flooded housey
october: we had our first whole weekend in our housey, baked pumpkin muffins with minnie, celebrated steven’s 25th birthday, sophie discovered the top of the fridge, celebrated a bff engagement on a boat and made ourselves some griddle cheeses
november: we attended a halloween engagement party, took my new boots to dinner, painted two cupcakes while stevo ran a race from chattanooga to nashville, had a cozy date night in, made a little photo shrine to the fluffies, ate smores because the air smelled like winter, i visited boston for the first time with bff mary, celebrated a fun thanksgiving with the fams,
put up our christmas tree, and i turned 24
december: we went to the fabulous michael buble concert, had a pre-christmas snowday that led to a blizzard week, traveled to pinehurst for molly & ben’s wedding, i finally finished college, had a wonderful white christmas, and took a trip to sunny but still chilly florida
2010, you were quite a year.
a little unpredictable, but full of blessings and lessons in perseverance.
we lost a lot. we gained even more. it’s been a year we’ll never forget.
we can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store!
happy new year!
