we went to check on our little housey this evening…
aaand surprise! the big floody trash mountain had finally been picked up!
then dear darling husband sprayed the entire house with a bleach mixture.
you know. to kill icky flood stuff.
then dear darling husband sprayed the entire house with a bleach mixture.
you know. to kill icky flood stuff.
so the big trash mountain was gone [we call it trash, but it was really our stuff],
but i noticed a few funny little things left there in the dying grass of our front yard
that i think maybe sum up our lives pretty well…
[vintagey girl coasters that april gave me… and pages from my fav jamie & claire book]
[aaand maybe the perfect summary of steven’s life: membership card from his auburn honor society]
it’s weird to see little remnants of life just chucked out as garbage…
and there have definitely been moments where we just want to forget all this silly flood nonsense.
but it’s so important for us to remember and appreciate all the good
that has been found where we least expected to find it. in a big, ugly flood.
we love our life. and we’re making progress!
[oh oh oh, ps. martha stew blogged pics from our neighborhood!! yes. martha. love her.]

therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
each day has enough trouble of its own.

I'm so sorry about this. I hope everyone continues to remember how many people were affected and still living with the flood aftermath. You have a great attitude about it!
