christmas is my fav. besides summer, which is my ultimate fav, this holly jolly season just brings so much uncontrollable happiness for me… it makes me feel alllll tingly and giddy and warm.

there are just so many things to delight in during the christmas season and it all goes so fast! but i fully intend to enjoy allllll the christmas i can pack into this month, so i’ve made a little listy…
christmas excitements! okay, go:
- christmas tree + decorations!
- christmas music!! obvious. specifically harry connick: when my heart finds christmas. puts me right in the spirit. also, charlie brown christmas!
- the smell of christmas [aromatique.. how do they do it?!]
- ELF!! watching it once is not even good enough. repeat watchings!! i giggle and giggle. and giggle.
- when the mall is all decorated and buzzing.. and there’s a big, long line for santa!
- mistletoe!
- holiday budge… which is our word for fudge. the cute little childish mispronunciations just caught on too easily back in the day.
- christmas carols!
- the christmas spirit! i love when it hits public places. people just become so helpful & cheery & nice! well, some get mean & aggressive, but we won’t go there.
- driving around looking at christmas lights with stevo!
- hot cider & eggnog. mmm yummy.
- trying to recite the christmas scripture we memorized in kindergarten, which i can totally do. it’s the hand motions i have trouble with. [this performance is usually directed at little sis. who is much better at the hand motions.]
- setting up the fam’s cute little nativity scene just how i like it [um, you can’t just put them anywhere] and remembering the reason for the season! hallelujah!
- christmas eve candlelight service at BCC
- a partridge in a pear tree! visions of sugarplums! jackfrost nipping at your nose!
- tracking santa on the internet. if you haven’t done it, it’s glorious. and kind of weird. but fulfills a few of my minor control issues.
- listening for reindeer hooves on the rooftop. or pretending to, at this point, for the sake of my youth.
- christmas parties! and christmas dresses for christmas parties!
- recalling all the happy happy happy christmas eve memories with the sibs
- and of course i couldn’t be more excited about christmas morning. eeee!
i’m sure i could go on for a zillion jillion years… but the most exciting part is that we’re so ridiculously blessed to be able to enjoy all the happiest moments of the holidays together and with our family and friends! yay!
